They want to control the rate at which the virus is spreading but don’t believe stopping mass gatherings of thousands in multiple cities will help with that. Weird.

Boris even said that mass gatherings would not cause an increase in contagion. Which makes perfect sense if you think about it. The more people you get clustered around a carrier, the less chance there is of the virus spreading. It's obvious when you are "guided by science*".

*Science is the surname of some incompetent moron who the government have hired to run this shit show.

I'm actually watching the press conference and the question about closing stadiums come up.

This gonad science guy says that you're only likely to infect 2 or 3 people in close proximity, like at work for instance.

Does he not realise how football stadiums work or does he think all grounds are like Wigan and have two rows apart between fans?

What you're forgetting is they've all actually stood in those environments with their measuring kits. It's not like they are pulling guesses straight out of their arseholes. I know you have probably seen those alarmist videos that show sneezes erupting at close on 200mph and spreading over copious areas. But the CV19 sneezes only moves at 2mph and covers a distance of 2 inches (fact checked by Facebook). So it's probably okay to wander into the middle of a 20K crowd during a pandemic. You need to "follow the science" (funding). You can't go wrong if you do that, although prices may go down as well as death.

Everyone on the pitch takes a knee at kick off.

What a bizarre age we live in.

Sheffield United should have had a goal or something.

From what Rors said it has been 0-0 and a hoof fest.

Goal line tech failed, VAR failed. Should be 1-0
NOTE: The location of this post has been moved and the thread title (which was previously Wenger is Leaving) has been manipulated by a notorious pro-Wenger moderator. What was previously a message that contained no profanity and made a comment on a real life event has now been manipulated by a deliberately provocative title. An old and crude propaganda and censorship technique.
