Sage will review at the end of next week but no let up in restrictions until then.

Not sure what you would expect. I would have thought it absolutely obvious that the lockdown will continue.

We’re in this for a long time in some shape or form. Wuhan is only just easing measures (if you believe it) and that was 11 weeks. You can’t commit to what you don’t know yet, so why would you if you’re going to get held to account on it.
It's better to burn out, than to fade away.

Yes agreed, it is obvious it will continue but the government have failed to communicate that exactly until now.

The reason why I was hoping for a clear answer is in theory I would be going to work via train early on Tuesday morning. Now knowing for certain, that won't be the case.

Agreed. And it's breaking out again in China according to whistleblowers and social media reports on the ground. In 1918 the first wave was the mild one. The two subsequent were each deadlier than the last with higher consequences because there were fewer and fewer doctors and nurses to fight it. We have no way of knowing how this will go. All these plans are speculative at best. Best case scenarios. And that's without considering the medium to long term fallout from the economic shutdown.

We're in panic control mode, as opposed to actual planning mode, I believe. If we've decided we can't face the human cost of a pandemic magnitudes less severe than 1918 and probably twice as virulent as the 1950s and 2017/18 influenza spike, I don't see how we're not going to be locked down for a considerable time into the future. Maybe not to the same severity, but restrictions are likely to be in place for months not weeks.

We don't even have decent guesses on how many have actually been infected. How many have recovered. What sort of immunity exists, if any. What the chances are of being reinfected. I don't see how any sort of normality can resume until at least these basics have been established.
