Shock and Awe, free on Amazon Prime, is well worth another watch in light of what's going on with government, the "experts" and the media today. It also serves as a reminder of just how tragically ridiculous and dishonest (and evil) the main players were, not least the unspeakable George W Bush. Bush (and his lap dog Blair) used the crisis of 911 to launch one of the most destructive hoaxes of that century. They had almost every "expert" aligned behind them (because the genuine experts had been sidelined and vilified), and the media parroted every lie and dutifully thumped the war drums - the BBC making the loudest noise of all (as detailed in a Cardiff University study that ranked them the global leader in terms of being pro-war during the period).
It was all a lie, devised by the corporations, executed through their puppet politicians, sold by the irredeemably corrupt mainstream media with the prices being paid by a million dead civilians and thousands of dead combatants. The chaos persists to this day. So yes, governments can and will lie to the citizenry. They can and will represent the interests of the powerful in direct defiance of the will of the people. And yes, the mainstream media is, by far, the biggest source of fake news both online and off. The sort of fake news that has horrific consequences.
When asking yourself the questions, why would they lie, how could they get away with it, why didn't anyone speak up, how could they hide such a monstrous conspiracy that must have involved so many individuals, could they really be that evil? Watch the film. History has answers to all these questions.
And now it is happening again. Leading the charge are the "experts" and their big pharma paymasters, corrupt politicians and, of course, the mainstream media. The usual suspects. The Washington Post, The New York Times and, proudly carrying the flag of fake news at the head of the charge, the BBC. But like a giant switch the size of the world, memories have been reset, history washed clean and the same great questions, as if they have never been answered, are instead used as reasons why conspiracy and collusion are simply not possible and must, therefore, be the fevered imaginings of conspiracy theorists.
Maybe this time around the wheel we'll learn? Probably not.

well, maybe but it reminds me of the conundrum of the 'elephants keep out' sign?
i.e. there's a counter-argument that says that without lockdown would there have been a lot more deaths of people without pre-existing conditions, but because the spread was curtailed it's only been able to pick off the low-hanging fruit...
There's no such counter-argument, because we have data from countries that didn't enforce a lockdown.
