China manipulated western governments into locking down and destroying economies and lives.
I have to say this makes a lot of sense. When I first heard about a Chinese town going into lockdown I didn't really think anything of it, oppressive communist dictator regime and all. Then when I started hearing talk of Italy going into a lockdown I thought that's media being media fear mongering it will never happen in a liberal western democracy, but it did and one by one other western nations followed suit nuking their economies and exerting unprecedented control over their citizens.
But we were told this was just for a couple of weeks to "flatten the curve" and prevent the healthcare system overwhelming, well the curve got flattened the healthcare systems didn't get overwhelmed (Nightingale hospitals remained unused) yet we are still largely shuttered with a return to normal nowhere in sight. What is the endgame now?
It was unnecessary and did far more harm than good are they continuing with this charade because they're embarrassed of their gross overreaction and trying to make it seem justified by giving the illusion of a threat still persistent?
I admit it is very lethal to a small subset of the population, protect them and let the rest of us live our lives. I'm tired of this crap right now. I'm not living I'm merely existing, its boring and needless.
Why did the west follow the lead of an oppressive communist regime?
Also my biggest fear is the precedent it sets for the future. When the government feels like stifling our liberties so overtly for whatever reason the lemmings actually applaud them for doing so.
The actual disease is the least disastrous thing about this whole situation.
It's grim up north.
