Which means you need to hear something "specific" (in your terms, because I already provided the specifics), preferably trivial, you can latch onto and initiate a virtually meaningless side debate that avoids the main issue. Example, the BBC is a fake news outlet. Oh no it's not, says Letters, because there's this one article NQ said was fake news but if we argue the semantics until the cows come home to a hell frozen over, with pretty pigs flying through the sky, we can exchange 10,000 words each without ever talking about the main issue.
