Plenty of people actually believe healthcare is free in this country, especially young people. If you explain it to them they say, well yes, you pay in taxes. But that immediate perception is still there as a norm. And if you look at some of the contributors above, they are extremely low information individuals. So I'm not sure it's right to make the assumption they understand the basics.

The real question is not now expensive the vaccine will be, it will be very, very expensive, it's what will be cut from the health budget to compensate. Anyone who thinks that won't be done has obviously missed most of what has happened in the last year. Virtually everything non Covid was slashed, to the point where many people have and will die. So we'll pay for this vaccine twice, as one of the posters above points out.

Meanwhile in the real world the NHS spotted my 85-yo relative had high blood pressure and he was seen by a specialist two days later. It wasn't significant but if it had been they'd identified it and it would have been sorted

Another elderly relative's cancer checks continue as normal and another had a video meeting with a doctor within a couple of days of asking for an appointment

    And the problem is?

The problem is, tens of thousands of people haven't been as fortunate as your, presumably real, 85-yo relative or your, presumably real, elderly relative.

Get the people back to work and sack the betas who are too afraid to leave their house. That way they can stay at home for good. Everyone's a winner.

The government will be using your money to buy millions of alleged covid self tests which you can then buy again for a fiver and, if you test negative, you may be able to get a day-pass to socialise with others at sporting and other entertainment venues.

Yay! Freedom! And it'll only cost you a fiver every time you want to play! Now that's a great deal. Can't see it ever going up to £10, then £20, then... Nope. Can't see any legal issues with this either. No, no, no.

That way, things can go back to "normal"

This time next year we'll all be back to normal, Rodney.

Meanwhile new data has revealed the economy does well when businesses are allowed to open, but does badly when they are locked down. These stunning revelations give us hope that when the absolutely safe (we promise) vaccine is here we could keep businesses open all the time (unless the council bulldozes them due to a Covid outbreak - yes, that's real proposed legislation). Open businesses are good for the economy. Thank fuck we have clever people to figure out these things for us.

About the absolutely safe (we promise) vaccine, for software developers out there here's something that might be interesting for you:

"The MHRA urgently seeks an Artificial Intelligence (AI) software tool to process the expected high volume of Covid-19 vaccine Adverse Drug Reaction (ADRs) and ensure that no details from the ADRs' reaction text are missed."

MHRA is the regulator for drugs and medicines in the UK, though it has placed this tender out to EU companies. Supposedly their existing systems simply won't be able to handle the volume of anticipated cases, so they need new technology to handle the fire hose.

Hopefully the casualty list won't bite into the 99.4% survival rate too deeply.

It's getting more normal all the time.

Are the government experts stupid people? Did they somehow fluke their way through years of medical training and then fluke their way into senior positions? That could be one explanation for what they have done in response to this long gone pandemic. But it's not a very likely explanation.

So why have they done this? That's the question, isn't it?

Now they want to inject you with a rushed vaccine. They want to track and trace you, test you with highly unreliable tests, issue you with freedom passes. If we go with the theory of them being stupid people, would it be a good idea to follow them along this path?

And if they aren't stupid people, why are they suggesting these new measures? That's another question, isn't it?

This is an example of how successive abuses of civil liberties can become precedent for even greater abuses. As always, you don't need jackboots marching down the street. You just need to get those laws onto the books, one law at a time, so they become the building bricks in civil liberties abuses that would be unimaginable if decreed in a single step.

    https://committees.parliament.uk/wri...ence/9253/pdf/

Also recall I provided the bill going through passage that indemnifies state departments against liability when committing criminal actions. And the documentation that indemnifies corporations against liability should their vaccines cause harm.

These are the blueprints for the legal removal of your civil rights and protection for criminals that would abuse your inalienable rights.

The authoritarian technocrats that have seized power in Greece are reinstating a draconian law that requires citizens to text the authorities, or fill out a form, for permission to leave their homes. They will also need to carry their papers while out on permissible leave. This isn't the same thing as being imprisoned without charge in their homes. It's different. There aren't any state controlled locks on their doors. Totally different.

But wouldn't state controlled locks be more convenient? It would save on text charges, form filling and government administration. You can never have too much convenience. Of course you'd have to listen to the whining conspiracy theorists going on about civil liberties and all that old normal shit.
