Fuck sake, I’m so done.

What an utter failure the tier system has proven to be. Literally introduced then changed constantly until we get to another full lockdown.

Tier 3 was nowhere near restrictive enough to make any real difference to the numbers. Schools being open is the big one. Kids do need to be at school IMO but it is going to spread like wildfire through schools as social distancing really isn't possible with kids. Interestingly, in the real peak last April I didn't know anyone who actually had the 'Rona. Now I know loads of people - my niece and brother in law, my cousin and family, a few friends. But none of them are ill, or not seriously because they're all relatively young. Cases are going through the roof but it's spreading a lot more through younger people now which is why the death rate, although going up, isn't higher than the previous peak (at the moment).

Robert Peston was saying on twitter that basically its tier 4 for everyone but with schools closed, dont leave home & only work away from home if essential.

But it seems outdoor exercise is to be allowed. Not sure if thats like November ie. walking or running or now where tennis courts, outdoor gyms, golf courses etc are still open

I’m going to assume you have seen the news about the hospitals and how badly they are struggling especially in London & the south. Patients being kept in ambulances because of lack of beds, more and more going into intensive care etc.

So therefore, what do you propose? This is all a hoax so go back to normal?

Same as EVERY winter, you mean? It's called a lack of investment in the health services. They are stretched to breaking point every winter. Loads of people die from respiratory diseases, every winter. The difference this time is the panic and fearmongering.

One thing that is puzzling me is how come our case rate is so high compared to Europe yet the daily death tolls are similar.

For example, on Saturday, we had 57k cases & 440 deaths yet Germany had 11k cases & 330 deaths, Italy 12k cases & 360 deaths & France had 3k cases & 150 deaths.


When looking back over the last couple of weeks, the daily deaths figures in those countries seem similar to ours.


Now there is a lot in the media saying the virus is out of control as we have over 50k cases a day for about week which is a fair point but what is going on in Europe? How come they are having much less cases yet similar deaths which would imply a more deadly strain?

Are they not testing as many as we are or is there something else? If you look at the case rates, you would assume that the UK was out of control but Europe was handling it so much better. Once you add in teh daily death tolls, a very different picture emerges.

Different levels of fraud in the testing. There's a ton of information in this thread about how the "tests" work and how the data can be whatever the tester wants it to be, depending on the procedure used. Ireland started applying recommended standards to PCR testing a few months back and their case count plummeted. So much info on here but people ignore it because it is "conspiracy theory" if it deviates in any way from the mainstream narrative. The inventor of this so-called test told people not to use it this way, and the crackpot German scientist who redesigned the process to "test" for covid is being sued. It's a fraud, junk science, that's how you explain the wild statistics.

Except this time, along with the Flu etc that causes the problems every winter, there is another virus that is causing people to require hospital treatment.

Except flu has declined significantly across Europe, along with other respiratory infections. Some scientists claim this is an understood phenomena where one infection beats out and replaces another. It could also just be a case of labelling every infection as covid, like they were doing in March/ April. Hard to know with these perpetual liars.
