On a related note, as also posted not too long ago Boris himself said the vaccine doesn't stop you catching/spreading it so while looking into the shit I need to do if I want to come back now why such discrepencies?

So if your not vaccinated you have to be tested before you get on the plane (disregarding the flawed logic in that the test can be done 3 days before the flight and you could easily catch it in the meanwhile), but if you are vaxxed you don't have to be tested even though you could just as easily be carrying and spreading it, possibly even more likely to be asymptomatic/mildly symptomatic, so less likely to realise you're sick (not that being positive even means your sick but hey these are the new parameters we've been working with up til now). So hypothetically all the unvaxxed on the plane are negative but who knows about the vaxxed?
Then when you get back if you're vaxxed you must do a day 2 test but you can do the cheaper "less accurate" LFT, if you're not you have to pay for the more expensive PCR tests on day 2&8, also house arrest for 10 days, now imagine we test positive on day 2/8 but wait we know we were negative when we got on the plane, so who did we catch it from? Couldn't possibly be the people who are just as likely to have it but are able to forgo the excessive, expensive testing could it?
This is clearly nothing more than a money grab at this stage for big pharma, and the "government approved" testing providers note the lines:
- If you will be in England for less than 2 days you still need to book and pay for a day 2 COVID-19 test. (vaxxed)
- If you are in England for less than 10 days, you need to quarantine for the time you are here. You need to book day 2 and day 8 PCR tests. You only need to take the tests if you are still in England on those days (unvaxxed)
They don't really care about the results of these tests or if you're actually going to do them, as long as you pay for them.
