To be clear, these camps are for travellers.
It’s where people spend their quarantine period.
You make it sound like the army are just randomly dragging people off in the middle of the night.
Here’s someone’s account of being in one.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/world...bb9_story.html

There’s a similar thing here, or there was. It was in hotels here.
A mate of mine was a manager at a hotel which had been commandeered as a quarantine hotel.
He told me about it and it didn’t sound fun for the people who had to stay there. They literally has their room keys taken away!

I’m not sure what to make of this sort of thing. Obviously in the context of a pandemic there is a need to control how people come in to the country. What that looks like is debatable. Australia have taken a far harder line than us and it has worked - they have had very few Covid deaths. But at what cost to liberties, mental health and the economy?

To compare this to concentration camps is disingenuous and misleading.

Direct quotes from the authoritarian directing this, the fascist Michael Gunner.

“As you know, last night, we took urgent action to escalate our response in these communities, immediately implementing a hard lockdown,”

“That means residents of Binjari and Rockhole no longer have the 5 reasons to leave their home. They can only leave for medical treatment, in an emergency, or if required by law.”

“It’s highly likely that more residents will be transferred to Howard Springs today, either as positive cases or close contacts,”
About the HolidayInn these "travellers" are being booked into.

Howard Springs quarantine camp, formerly a mining camp but has since been converted into a place to isolate potential Covid patients.

The sprawling, fenced camp known as the Northern Territory Center for National Resilience once housed 3,500 construction workers in squat prefab units that Australians call “dongas.” They have gray linoleum floors and walls, harsh fluorescent lighting, battered venetian blinds and fire-engine-red furniture. The feeling is part trailer camp, part hospital, part prison.

Teams wearing personal *protective gear and wheeling carts deliver food once a day about 5 p.m. and leave it on the baking veranda step. (Although they might forget you.)

Nurses rap sharply on the door for random early-morning temperature checks or coronavirus tests. Police and soldiers patrol, occasionally shouting at people to put on masks. And there is a 39-page booklet of rules and procedures. All this, for the price of a good hotel room.

The rules are detailed: no *alcohol, no care parcels, no restaurant deliveries, no balls, no sunbathing, no metal silverware, no scissors or sharp implements, no cooking in the kettle, no putting food waste into the hand basin (who does that, anyway?), no electrical appliances, no stepping off your balcony *except for garbage disposal and three allotted weekly laundry spots, no skateboards or inline skates, no *swimming or playing in the drains when it rains, no noise *after 9.30 p.m.

Bags are searched and people can be fined if they don’t wear masks outside. Supermarket *orders are allowed.
The majority of residents seized are indigenous Australians.

This is, of course, an outrage that takes the breath away from any decent and moral human being. But that no longer means the majority will be against it.

It's not, it's residents who have tested positive and "close contacts"

Sounds like a concentration camp to me...

Covid has been very lucrative for Oxford. It wasn't meant to be that way but Gates moved mountains to turn "we're all in this together" into a ballooning cash bonanza. New billionaires are being made every day. So these people certainly have a reason to chase the kids. A lot of kids, a lot of cash. It's the oldest reason in the book. When you couple the marketing drive with outlets like the guardian, a newspaper that once printed the news but now serves as a mere repeater for the establishment in order to fill a begging bowl, it's an efficient funnel. But, like any online scam, dig a little and the hype gives way to the empty reality.

Buried in that shit piece you'll see, "But for those who are very frail, immunocompromised or have underlying health conditions, Pollard and Angus said, Covid infections can still be “enough to destabilise them” and cause “serious, life-threatening health problems that add to the pressure on the NHS”." That's the way it was from day one, nothing has changed. If these guys were ethical scientists they'd have focused on the vulnerable from the outset and kept their grubby claws off the kids. But these aren't ethical scientists, not any more.

Do you have a source for that?
I'm not saying you're wrong, I just didn't hear that.

And come on, dude. You know what the connotation of calling them concentration camps is. Even if you could squeeze these things into the dictionary definition of them, you know it's a stretch when you consider the images that term conjures up,

    "To be clear...?"

It almost sounded like you'd done your homework before giving the lecture. But alas, it's just like every other example of you swallowing first and avoiding questions later.

Now read this to see if you can figure out why you don't know what's happening in the world:
    https://www.theguardian.com/australi...cted-to-worsen

That's all. If you can read that article and figure out what's so terribly wrong with it then something useful comes out of the discussion.

16 second mark on the video on the tweet I posted https://twitter.com/VigilantFox/stat...https%3A%2F%2F

"It's highly likely that more residents will be transferred to Howard Springs today either as positive cases or close contacts..." goes on to mention 38 close contacts are being transferred now. These are not returning travellers.

    Sure, it's just a jab, it's just a shower...
