When Biden confirmed the withdrawal, Trump couldn’t get hte self congratulatory statements out that he negotiated this deal and it was all his brilliant idea. Now its gone horribly wrong, he’s deleting those statements from his website.

I'm 100% in favour of it. And 100% against the US being there in the first place. I've read extensively on the history and culture of Afghanistan (due to the events in the 70s and 80s) and it's absolutely obvious what is happening today, regardless of the utter bullshit being spewed by the legacy media. It's so painful watching people without knowledge have opinions on things that aren't actually real.

Pray tell why abandoning Afghanistan where thousands of people will die at the hands of the taliban, the rights fought & won for women etc will now disappear and another terrorist group takes power. How is that the only decent thing Biden has done?

Whether you agree or not with the invasion 20 years ago, that is completely irrelevant now. We went in and so the responsibility to leave in orderly fashion when the country is ready to continue without western support. We have not done that, in Biden’s speech on Monday, he said the taliban was at its strongest military level since 2001. Leaving Afghanistan knowing that is a failure.

The west had a responsibility to ensure stability in Afghanistan following our invasion, that has now failed. The soldiers who sacrificed their lives fighting there were now in vain if we just abandon it to the taliban. If anyone believes the talibans claims that they will be moderate & forgive those working with the west, they are morons. There are enough stories in the last few days of taliban going around & rounding up anyone they suspect of working with the west.

There is no such thing as stability in Afghanistan and there probably never will be. You can reasonably blame that on the west as well, but it goes back hundreds of years.

As much as it is horrible what is going on there, we've been there 20 years and nothing has changed. Except we've spent trillions and thousands upon thousands have died. There was never going to be any way we could have left in an orderly way and the "government" would have taken over, because frankly in huge swathes of the country they were never in charge in the first place. It's not like the Taliban have just figured out they could retake the country, they've been biding their time for years and holding off as they knew we were fucking off by a certain date. If we (and by that really the US) were still in there in full force, which hasn't been the case for years let's be honest, then the Taliban wouldn't be fucking about on the number cars or in the gym.

NOTHING has been abandoned except all the weaponry that was deliberately left behind to facilitate this latest plot twist in the fake narrative that has surrounded Afghanistan since day one.
