He doesn’t trust any of the forwards because they’re not his players, he even took a while to warm up to Martinelli. It’s the one area of the team he hasn’t actually managed to sign anyone, well there was Willian but at least he recognised his mistake quickly there.

I’ll give him one more year on the assumption that we will be going hard this summer on players who can make a difference up front.

I think we're better than what we've seen. The players have looked terrified from the first minute. We had Ramsdale hoofing the ball off the pitch, Elneny, Xhaka and Ode all hiding. I know it's a high stakes game but that was awful.

The manager has to take the blame as well. Terrible decision dropping Martinelli, he was our only spark when he came on.

Yeah to be fair you have a point. They looked like frightened rabbits when the stakes were high and that was the senior players.

Ramsdale has been shakey for a while now and I felt Xhaka, Elneny & Odegaard as you pointed out have gone into hiding in the crunch games. It is what it is, Arteta & Edu have the summer now to improve the team / squad.

I certainly won’t be so forgiving next season.

As I said, as soon as CL qualification became expected, they froze. They were far more composed and effective when chasing. They’ve looked every bit like a group of boys who couldn’t deal with the pressure. A real poor way to bow out, not going to do their reputation any favours.
