I remember going to a game years and years ago at Goodison park, last minute winner for Everton and chucking it down with hailstones on the way back to the coach. I felt thoroughly fucking miserable, soaked to the bones…long journey back after a shitty result on a Sunday when I had to get to work early the next morning and it just didn’t occur to me to fly into such rage, just smiled back and nodded at the cheeky little fucker.
