Amazing how we're top of the league with so many shit players.
Amazing how we're top of the league with so many shit players.
NOTE: The location of this post has been moved and the thread title (which was previously Wenger is Leaving) has been manipulated by a notorious pro-Wenger moderator. What was previously a message that contained no profanity and made a comment on a real life event has now been manipulated by a deliberately provocative title. An old and crude propaganda and censorship technique.
Quite. Some frankly absurd takes in these reaction threads. We have the youngest squad in the league. If we do the unthinkable and win it, Arteta would be the youngest manager to ever win the PL. 3 of the top 4 goalscorers aged 21 and under in Europe are contracted to Arsenal. Our mentality shift compared with recent years is monumental. You would think any Arsenal fan would find a little more to be positive about.
This
These are talented young players learning on the job but now able to come through adversity
of course there are improvements needed and we were absolutely at fault for the goals and also once again guilty of overcomplicating things going forward
and while two goals came from corners, we had 17 of the fucking things, so we should have created far more chances from them - they have to stop that habit of it either being Saka hitting the first defender or him and Odegaard trying to be too clever with some stupid routine
But we also had two good pelanty shouts for handball which could easily have been given on another day tbh (and probably would if it was the other way around)
Ram - 8
Saliba - 7.5
Gabriel - 7.5 - messed up for the first goal but shit happens
Partey - 8 - was generally very good though lost his man for their second goal
White - 7.5 (can't believe someone asked why he was where he was for his goal? - that's what full backs do you idiot)
Zin - 6 - reverted to type mainly, dawdled on the ball as usual
Tomi - 4 - poor
Martinelli - 7.5 - (though he needs to be played on the wing with Trossard/ESR inside)
Saka - 6 - is getting tired IMO and needs to stop taking those shite corners and should have played in Odegaard who had a clear sight on goal in the second half
Trossard - 7 - decent and hope his injury not too serious
Xhaka - 6.5 - a good decision to bring him on when Bournemouth had slowed down to his pace and i think that should be his future until we ditch him in the summer
Odegaard - 7 - put a shift in but still not fully on his game
Vieira - 7.5 - great feet, looks lively, needs more playing time
ESR - 6 - good header to set up our first goal but struggling to find how to fit into our game and should be played centrally with Martinelli on the left
Nelson - 10 - added real drive and directness - a fantastic goal and a great assist in 20 minutes to turn the game around - tell me that's not 10/10
Why are we really critisicing things here. Sure there can be some improvements, I don’t think anyone argues there can’t be but isn’t this the most fun watching and supporting arsenal we’ve had in years, probably since 2004.
This team has really built a connection with the fans. When else have you heard the emirates rock like it has this season? There are 12 games left and we are 5 points clear with the team fighting until quite literally the last kick of every game. Just this year alone, we’ve scored 3 last minute winners which have sent us all crazy.
We’ve had great games in the past but the wins this year feel different. Perhaps it’s the fact there is genuine belief & hope of a title win rather than the theory of it as in years gone by but for now, we should enjoy every moment even if some performances are not the greatest.
There are 12 cup finals left and every win should be celebrated as such
