At risk of being told i'm not being considerrate enough, part of me thinks raising £350k to find a couple of dead bodies rather than, say, giving it to a kids hospital to help people who are still alive is a warped sense of priorities - but there you go

It's completely true.
It's desperately sad for the families of both men, but they are gone and no amount of money can bring them back.

Not sure how the family would access those funds. Unless they can get into his various accounts, the bank won’t release anything while he’s still classed as ‘missing’.
