Saw him play live once. I remember nothing about his performance but I do remember it was not long after 1986 and it was at Wembley - it was an FA Centenary game, it was "England vs the Rest of the World", England meaning "players who play in England", Lineker played for the rest of the world side as he was at Barca. Anyhoo, my abiding memory (apart from my dad buying me an England flag which fell apart about 5 minutes after I bought it) was Maradona getting booed loudly every time he touched the ball

He did well to last this long given his erm, lifestyle choices.
