Joey Barton has been getting some stick recently for talking out about the amount of women commentators/pundits and I have to say I'm actually with him on this.
As someone who had been totally out of the game until the last year the proliferation of female commentators/pundits had been very noticeable. They're alright for presenting, so long as they look good but for main commentary a woman's voice just doesn't have the right cadence, it's shrill and difficult to listen to. As co-commentators or pundits, while there are many moronic males doing this, the women never played at the highest level it's a bit like having Dave from the weekly park kick about being on Sky Sports as an expert.
