Well, I've turned my laptop on so...

Tbf everyone I work with is on leave, there's not really much to do. Will just bumble through the next few days and then turn off till the new year.

Never felt less festive in my life tbh. Plan on working throughout most of the period.

I'd actually started to feel festive but then Boris Johnson gave us all a swift kick in the knackers on Saturday. The prick.
Although churches can still run so I did enjoy the carol services yesterday, that was a mini-oasis of near normality in an otherwise awful run up to Christmas.
Still in negotiations with the in-laws re Christmas Day. To me it depends what their neighbours are doing. If they're all going to behave themselves then I'd probably feel a bit bad rocking up and having Christmas while they're not. I'm thinking we might play it by ear, have Christmas morning and Dinner here and if the in-laws are up for it and the weather is OK we could meet up somewhere outside for a bit in the afternoon.

I see no-one has clamoured for the Christmas Smileys or Christmas Names this year

I'm definitely not working apart from one thing I have to so after xmas, really need the time off, will just relax, read, go for walks and watch my hair get gradually more out of control...

The only thing getting me through is joke of a year is my kid. I would have missed out on a lot with him this year if things were normal, so every cloud etc.

We managed to take our boy to a grotto just before everything closed down and this is the first year he's understanding what Christmas is about more.
If it is just the 3 of us on Christmas Day then at least with him it will be less depressing.
I spent last night putting together a ride on tractor for him. Gone midnight I finished and padded out to the garage (which is out the back) to hide it in there and the key snapped off in the lock

Yeah I've a friend in the same situation, his work's gone quiet but he's really enjoying looking after their young kid
