I kinda gatecrashed a nearby street party for the jubilee. Not randomly, I have friends in the road. Well, I know the daughter of the couple in the road and her husband. Kinda know the parents too but not that well. TL;DR, the boy enjoyed having his face painted and getting ice cream.
I don't think there's anything planned locally round here for this. we're not that neighbourly round here which is how I like it.

Kinda intrigued by this coronation thing. I mean I don’t really care but I guess it’s something that majority of us have never seen in our lifetime.
Certainly not celebrating in any jingoistic way though. I live in a cul de sac mostly with older couples as neighbours, I’m sure they’ll have the bunting out soon enough.
I won’t go out of my way to avoid it, but neither will I go out of my way to watch it either. Certainly staying the fuck away from London. My Scottish cousin wanted to go to london to see it, I said I’d tried to get tickets for the Abbey but didn’t hold out much hope
I liked the Queen, I don’t like Charles I’ve always considered him a jug earred waste of space (not out of any love for his late first wife…couldn’t stand her either). But I’m prepared to judge him as King based on how he behaves as King.
When the old girl died back in September, NQ mentioned that he thought Charles would be the worst king we’ve ever had, because he believed that he would be unable to keep his trap shut about the “issues” he cares about. And have to say I was kind of of that view myself (though stated he’d have to go some way to topple Edward VIII from that particular throne) but that said so far so good…he’s kept his mouth shut and hasn’t tried (as far as I know) to unduly influence the political realm.
I don’t know maybe as Prince of Wales he thought he could get away with it, but knows as King it’s an potential abdication offence
I reckon Charles is doing pretty well
