Hmm. Had British Gas round earlier about a new boiler.
We've been here over 3 and a half years now and the boiler was old as the hills when we moved in.
They've come back with an estimate of about £4,700
They say they need to move the boiler next to the tank and the existing one the flue isn't where it should be so they'll need to sort that out.
Even so, I wasn't expecting it to be anywhere near that much. They do financing, but still
Anyone had anything similar done?
Sounds like there is a fair bit of labour there so it’s probably not far off the mark. Worth getting another quote or 2 though.
One of my best mates is a gas engineer and he rakes it in. There’s a shortage of certified engineers so they do price themselves accordingly, particularly the big companies.

Cheers. Will give them a call
A new boiler. Surely the least enjoyable way to spend £1000. At least throwing the money out of the window you'd see the scrabbling mass, the hate-filled faces. I have spent a cool grand on acquiring the resumption of an equitable temperature.
You used to be everything to me
