I think a bit of common sense would've been used - the two managers and captains talking to their respective players and asking them if they're ok to play. If there aren't many who don't fancy it - like Collins - the game might as well go ahead. Although he was Welsh, I don't think he had a big connection with Swansea as a club. He was more involved with Cardiff from what I remember.
