Things are more interesting when it's 11 vs 11. Bowlers seem to be more fresh when they're not bowling 737372 overs because the best bowler is injured. Can't believe PK is taking wickets...fucking 72 mph.... I can bowl faster than that.

Cripps_orig
29-07-2011, 01:33 PM
Kumar has been pretty awesome tbh.

Also the England batsman are dumbasses. If they actually tried to whack him around at that speed, they'd never get out but they block him for some reason and he keeps finding the edge.

Blocking and leaving fans :pal:

Don't know...you can't really call any of the England lineup tailenders (apart from Morgan). Bresnan, Broad, Swann can all bat and Anderson can be quite handy for a 20 not out.

McNamara That Ghost...
29-07-2011, 02:20 PM
We'll have to rely on them to bat twice now I suspect. I guess there's still a chance of India being skittled out too.

India 24-1 at the close

That was dull

How do part time batsmen in Broad and Swann score so quickly and entertainingly whilst world class batsmen in Dravid and Laxman bore the fuck out of everyone?

Swann btw went for an xray

Syn
29-07-2011, 06:15 PM
That's a poor attempt. You wouldn't have said anything if you found it truly boring. That was an amazing 15 overs at the end. England's bowling was flawless and Dravid and Laxman were god-like in their technique and defence as always.

Against bowling of that quality, I'd say there is nobody in world cricket apart from Laxman and Dravid (and I include Tendulkar in that) who could've survived that spell. Every ball was 85-90mph, swinging, seaming away just outside off and then suddenly, the inswinger would jump up to ribcage. Unplayable for 99.999999999% of batsmen.

Just seen Broads hat trick. Embarrassing comes to mind. How he can have the nerve to celebrate that hat trick I'll never know. As good as the balls were to get rid of Dhoni and Kumar, it will forever be marred by the shocking decision to give Harbhajan out. The inside edge can be clearly seen in real life time and the umpire should be sacked asap and Broads hat trick should be removed from the records. That has really pissed me off. Further more Gower should stfu during commentary of that wicket. Stupid white haired cunt. Just go and die. How the hell does India not wanting DRS excuse the umpire and England from cheating?

Absolute disgrace. Every English cricket fan should be ashamed of todays tragedy.

On to better news, Dravid  what an innings. Brilliant. Well played Yuvraj. Made a mockery of England and SA and the Umpires yet again.

Oh and Cook :haha:

Cripps_orig
30-07-2011, 09:54 PM
Nope. Just the truth. It was a shocking decision and the umpire isnt being blasted for it at all. In fact i didnt hear anyone say it was a shocking decision by the umpire instead rambling on about DRS.

McNamara That Ghost...
30-07-2011, 09:58 PM
I'm sure they did, if not immediately. And anyway, mentioning the lack of DRS surely indicates that those commentators know it is a clearly incorrect decision that would've been overturned had it been in place.

Even if they had directly 'blasted' the umpire, would it really make you feel any better? You've posted the above about five hours after the event.

Cripps_orig
30-07-2011, 10:48 PM

the singh one is different imo, if you didnt have such a stupid view on drs and allowed it in the series, the singh one would have been reversed without anyproblems, thats a rod you made for you own back. it also balances out as two plumb lbws were turned down that if we had drs would have been given out.

the bell one, i think should have stayed the same, given out. doziness by bell after seeing the replay

Pathetic stuff from south Africa. If tendulkar was given out like that, no chance in hell would dhoni ask Strauss to reconsider the appeal because it's the batsmans fault. Anyone with a decent education would understand that. Unfortunately half the south African fans are fuckwits.

McNamara That Ghost...
31-07-2011, 06:42 PM
You might be right but Dravid did say the rest of the Indian team felt uneasy about what had happened even before Dhoni and Fletcher spoke with Strauss and Flower. Dravid also said they wouldn't have been happy if it had happened to one of their players. Diplomatic? Probably but you have to take it at face value.

Syn
31-07-2011, 06:45 PM
You might be right but Dravid did say the rest of the Indian team felt uneasy about what had happened even before Dhoni and Fletcher spoke with Strauss and Flower. Of course because it's a cheap way of taking a wicket. But ultimately it's the batsmans fault and so Strauss and the fans should not even be putting pressure on India -- they did nothing wrong; they're going by the letter of the law. Laxman was given out stumped in a very similar manner a month ago in west indies. India didn't complain, accepted the decision and moved on. South Africa can go fuck themselves.

Syn
31-07-2011, 06:49 PM
Where does it end? Why would it be any different if dhoni asked Strauss to reconsider the harbhajan appeal yesterday? After all, that was a less legitimate wicket than this one.

I agree that it is Bell's fault. The umpires would have gone to the Indian team too though. The fans shouldn't be putting pressure on? They cheer and boo as freely as football supporters do, that kind of partisan atmosphere is what you're going to get.

Isn't it because there is confusion from more than just England? I think I heard someone say Raina had already grabbed the helmets (so to speak) because he thought it was the end of it and Kumar was labouring about too initially along with most of the Indian team.

Harbhajan's was never offered by the umpires for England to overturn (if it could).

He has played 8 tests and won all 8 tests, I believe. Don't think any other player would have a 100% record

india have not just been beaten in the first two tests, they have been thrashed in every department. its actually embarasing how this team is number one and have played like that.they had england 124-8 and lost by 300+ runs with a day to spare, thats just a shocking fact though read an article from scyld berry in the telegraph blaming the BCCI and he is spot on. they are to blame for players not being fit ie the scheduling etc

also apart from cripps bollocks that test cricket is dead, i heard that all days in this series so far have been sell outs.
