J (http://le-grove.co.uk/2012/01/28/le-grove-podcast-1-alex-fynn-talks-david-dein-arsene-wenger-and-the-clubs-future/)ust finished listening to this podcast and it's worth a listen. Touches on so much that has been discussed on here. Not too sure who this Alex Flynn character and if he's a credible source, but worth a listen still.

Seems to be suggesting that Wenger has total control at the club and Gazdis will have a hard time wrestling that power back. Talks about the Board as well and how they have been from the Graham and Dein early years to where we are now.

If you've been involved in the last few debates about Wenger vs Board and whose to blame....this is worth a listen. Touches on so many thing discussed on here and the start of the Wenger era.

Did not listen to the thing, but who is this guy and how would he know what goes on in the arsenal boardroom.

This guy has spouted his arrogance aplenty.

He used to be on Sky about 20 years ago when they first started Soccer AM as a forum...pre-lovejoy.

He talked shit then, and knew NOTHING going on at the club. He's a nosey twat, who listens to bits and pieces, put's them together (albeit eloquently) and lauds himself as a football guru.

Twat of the highest degree....and if you want to know what's really going on.....don't listen to him.

Seriously, He used to be the regular Arsenal "fan" on this weekly forum that was the original soccer am. He talked rubbish most weeks and got laughed off the couch.

He certainly wasn't a guru, and certainly wasn't this consultant in media rights etc. He was a bog standard, posh twat who knew nothing about tactics, and nothing about what was going on at the club.

I think Arsene Wenger is a lot of stupid things sometimes, but "Neighbour and confident" of a dick like this guy? Gimme a break.

Sorry PnG. Not trying to piss on this....the guy makes some valid points, but it's idiots like this guy that many fans believe is the real insight into our club. And he's not. He's spouted his shit so many times, and if it's one person I fucking hate in this world of blogs and internet freedom of speech regarding The Arsenal, it's this twat.

No idea who the fella is but he writes a lot. Could be BS but couldn't see anything that suggested he was a fraud. Would have thought someone from the club would have exposed him by now if he's been around for that long taking rubbish. It was a good podcast and raises good questions. Just wondering why you guys would think of it. Worth a listen either way.

It starts of well with a lot of history which has/can be established as facts now, then wades in speculation/opinion. It was interesting from an opinion perspective. Not a big fan of le-grove always thought he was prejudiced, and that continues. He let quiet a few opportunities of digging deep and content to see points conforming to his beliefs towards the end

Bad interviewer (although it was his first attempt) and a tremendously dull guest. It was hard to stay awake listening to the guy. He failed to establish his credibility beyond stating his CV, gave no sources, drew a blank when it came to more recent events and any of us here could have given that interview just by scanning the threads on GW. Sounds to me like the guy may have been involved in some peripheral capacity but is now very much outside football looking in, like the rest of us.

His conclusions also failed to support his argument. On the one hand he claims Wenger has ultimate power. On the other he states Wenger is set a budget. Right there his story falls to pieces. If Wenger has total control then he sets his own budgets, surely? Then he implies Wenger won't spend money only to suggest Wenger does in fact spend the money but on inflated wages rather than transfers. In other words Wenger doesn't have enough money to both pay the wages and buy premium players. Easy solution would be to set himself a higher budget if he genuinely dominates the club.

But the worst implication of the interview is the waste of money being spent on board members and executives. If they are mere pen-pushers following the instructions of Wenger, we could get by with office temps rather than hiring highly paid professionals. So the sensible solution he should have reached would be to sack all the impotent executives (which Wenger could do as he has ultimate power) and save a shit load of money. The actual conclusion was that Wenger isn't a penny pincher at all. In fact he wastes money on paying castrated executives and mediocre players. Could this be true? Doubt it.

So you're saying that Alex Flynn is an alias for Letters?

Yes, but I prefer to be long winded about it.
