What a corrupt piece of shit but we knew that of dean, this is the same guy who blew the whistle in the cc soon as Brum scored the winner.

He was checking to see if the ball went over the line.

He certainly has a brief spastic episode.

Couldn't say what that signifies though.

Yeah, I think so.

Dunno why he's waving his hands about like John Inman though....

He's an awful referee. And, as usual, he called a major incident wrong yesterday that could have ended up costing us a crucial game. We wouldn't have blamed him. The media wouldn't have blamed him. The focus would've been on Arsenal getting beaten in an important game, again.

BUT I thought that - one thing he did very well was not fall for Adebayor/Modric's playing-for-the-foul tricks. If you watch it again, you'll see the number of times Vermaelen and Koscielny made powerful challenges and won headers from Adebayor and intercepted forward passes by - what was made to look like 'going through the back of the player'. They were legal challenges, but just a bit physical. The referee rightly let play go on. Though I question if he would've been so lenient if the game was at White Hart Lane.

Also if we're bashing Dean, the Koz booking when he headbutt some guy in the nuts was farcical.

Do you honestly not remember the incident or are you just being a dick?

Exactly 7 minutes in. Is that a red card?

No, the poor decisions that Dean made on the whole impacted against us. For example, the penalty was never a penalty, and Modric should have been sent off in the second half for a second yellow. Moreover, I don't see any issue with Parker's 2 yellow cards. In fact, he could have got a straight red for his stamp on Vermaelen. I'm not saying he's deliberately crooked, but he was not equally shit for both teams.

Don't forget that Friedel should have conceded a penalty for pushing Walcott from a corner (perhaps Theo should have fallen over to make it look worse) Even Gibbs' penalty appeal looked close, although I can understand why that wasn't given.

Agreed.

On the Bale incident, the assistant ref - and, well, Bale, should be equally to blame. Graham Poll is spot on here: http://www.espnstar.com/football/premier-league/news/detail/item760973/Graham-Poll-lambasts-Bale-dive/

edit: Well, actually he's not spot on. But he's right about Bale being a diving prick.
