I guess the ones that might surprise you are the relatively big-name players that only player for a short while and left.

Like Suker.

I'm guessing Benayoun will be one of these names in 10 years.

Anyone remember that chap who scored a blinding goal at the City of Manchester Stadium in a Worthington Cup tie in 2004/05?

We won the game 3-1 and he was an American kid, playing left-back. Daniel something-or-other.

Daniel kabayssson or something like that, think he is one of our scouts now due to injury.

Chris Kiwomya - 14 (3)

Signed at the same time as John Hartson iirc.

We also were super close to signing Alan Stubbs and Jason McAteer at one point.

Ernesto
20-04-2012, 11:12 AM
Kiwomya started off OK-ish from what I can remember. Didn't really make any further signings from the lower divisions 'til Pennant after Hartson/Kiwomya.

Tony Woodcock. Always thought he was Mr Nottingham Forest. Didn't know he donned the red n white.

Gubby Allen
21-04-2012, 06:46 AM
Woodcock was here for a while. Scored 5 in a league game once, Villa I think but still remember the night.
Not sure that has been equalled since? Kiwomya did ok here, better than he is remembered.

the thread was "i didn't know he played for us"....i would say playing for us even in a reserve match counts.

So therefore I also add

Phillipe Christanvaal

It's somewhat embarrassing when you think you know so much about your football club and then you hear about the year or 2 some amazing footballer played for your club and you had no idea because he wasn't good yet.

You want to put this to the test, try this:

Yeah I noticed that, they didn't have Santos either. Oxo and Gervinho were included though, so they obviously haven't included our deadline day players.

If you just go onto www.sporcle.com and type in Arsenal there are far better ones around, most of the top 30 or 50s are the best and easier to keep track of - or you can do appearences just by decade.

The Wenger red cards one is quite interesting.
