I agree with that part. Draws on an old argument. If you have a wildcard and you’re going to give a young untested Prem manager his chance at a big club at least go for someone that played at the highest level. Less chance of the players showing zero respect and taking the piss as seen with Moyes. It’s not guaranteed but what can a manager like Moyes tell RVP or Rooney to improve their game? He has no credentials and it’s not as if he’s come in with a footballing philosophy either and tried to change United’s style of play.

Wood had a good thing going, until he suggested Brian Laudraup.

Apparently he's Pellegrinini's brother.

So I've heard, anyway.

thats an interesting piece. can't disagree with any of it to be honest but for me they missed out one important point. don't let the old manager stick around straight away. we all know fergie would have come back at some point as a director etc but not right away. let the new man settle before he comes back. also that book and continued interviews saying rooney wants to leave and asked for a transfer really undermined Moyes and that came from fergie himself. why did he do that? i can't ever imagine Arsene doing that when he leaves

I think the effect on us would be minimal if Wenger said that Rooney wanted to leave.

Fergie has pulled a fast one. What a great way to cement his legacy. Bring in a patsy like Moyes to really drive it home. People are now saying he left Moyes with an aging squad! More like he left him a championship winning an experienced squad.
