Must be some sort of mind fuck going on here. It's the most obvious red of the year and the most obvious ban of the year. How can they justify banning anyone after this (unless they aren't English)?

It's probably because Taylor and Shawcross were both sent off, while this wasn't even given as a foul.

OK - but by the same token the player hasn't had his leg snapped. Personally, I find Taylor's and Shawcross' 3 match bans and the 'not that type of player' general response just as repugnant as a refereeing mistake. As for the FA - yes they look like utter tossers but what's fucking new? Just another farce on top of many others! This incident seems to have been blown out of proportion for me. Gotta love the Interlull.
