Not a lot really, they seem to have given AVB their patience.

Never.

Have you seen what happens to our captains.

Vermaelen can keep it, and he can stay on the bench.

They did get 72 points tbf, it's their best ever PL total. They can't have too many complaints and they didn't collapse in the run-in. Chelsea away was always going to be a tough one and that's what cost them in the end.

To be fair also they were unbeaten in the league from March despite some very difficult games. I personally think Villas Boas has done a good job there, and i think if Levy keeps faith with him than he will deliver for them.
I think it's unlikely they will keep Bale but i think they will get enough for him to buy some decent players

Alot of people been saying that the only reason we're in top4 is that everyone else sucks donkey ass this year, but looking back a couple of seasons 71 points was enough for 2nd place :s

THE year 2013 will be remembered in North London as the Year of the Cockerel.

Tottenham are about to end 18 YEARS of hurt and finish above local rivals Arsenal in the Premier League.

It came within a whisker of happening last season, with just a point between them.

But as we await today’s big derby between the two teams, the balance of power has shifted to White Hart Lane.

If you go through the squads, Tottenham are man for man better than Arsenal.

Arsene Wenger’s Gunners have 15 or 16 good players and a few individuals who would get into the Spurs team.

But, as a manager, which squad would you rather have? No contest.

Tottenham can put two Premier League-quality players into any position.

Arsenal, in contrast, simply do not have that strength in depth.

It’s not happened overnight of course. When I was manager at Tottenham last season, overall we were better but they beat us by one point on the final day.

I remember West Brom put a reserve keeper in goal and he had a nightmare. We threw it away but, even then, you could see that Tottenham were about to overtake the Gunners as the top team in North London.

The pendulum has swung and we will see that in full technicolour this afternoon at White Hart Lane.

When you analyse the Tottenham squad in order, it is frightening.

Firstly, they have two great goalkeepers in Brad Friedel and Hugo Lloris, who is captain of the France national team.

HE'S SCOTT THE LOT ... AVB has dazzling midfield
Then there are Kyle Walker and Kyle Naughton as right-backs, Michael Dawson, William Gallas and Jan Vertonghen in the middle, with Benoit Assou-Ekottu at left-back or the versatile Vertonghen playing that role if necessary.

In the middle of the park there is no room to move for all the talent with Scott Parker, Mousa Dembele, Lewis Holtby and youngsters Tom Carroll and Jake Livermore all vying for starting spots.

On the flanks and up front they have Aaron Lennon, Clint Dempsey, Gareth Bale, Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor — what a roll call of quality.

Andre Villas-Boas’ forward line has been dismissed as weak because he does not have three strikers but you only need one with Bale playing the way he does. And Dempsey can fit that bill if need be anyway.

The big mistake Arsenal made came two years ago when they should have bought Parker, as I did for Spurs. When I heard he was available and at only £5million, we made it a priority to get him.

Arsenal should have gone for him. At the time they probably would have got him as well. I can’t believe they didn’t.

He gives you what every manager needs in midfield, a combative attitude, professionalism, desire, commitment and talent. A model pro. Every club should have someone like Parker.

And Spurs have built it over time. They have not gone out to try to buy a team in a day by splashing massive amounts in one go. They have invested wisely and look at what some of those players on their books are worth now — much more than was paid for them, that’s for sure.

Arsenal have their threats. Jack Wilshere and Theo Walcott would get in any team and Santi Cazorla too. You can’t dismiss them on their day of course.

But it’s the quality that lies beneath the surface with the first team that is most impressive about Tottenham.

I can’t see anything other than a Spurs win, 2-1 I reckon.

And, yes, Bale will score AGAIN.

year of the cockrel :haha:
better then Arsenal :haha:
