This is an update for the fans about my current situation. I have kept quiet all this time out of respect and loyalty for the club and as agreed with Mr. Woodward and Mr. Moyes, but since there is so much speculation in the media, I think it is fair for you guys to know what's really going on at the moment.
As announced earlier this year I had a meeting with the Boss and Mr. Woodward after the season.
This was a meeting about the club's future strategy and their policy. Financial terms or a contract have not been discussed, since that is not my priority at all.
I personally have had a great season but my goal has been to win trophies with the team and to bring the club back to its glory days.
Out of my huge respect for Mr. Moyes, the players and the fans I don't want to go into any details, but unfortunately in this meeting it has again become clear to me that we in many aspects disagree on the way Manchester United should move forward.
I've thought long and hard about it, but I have decided not to extend my contract.
You guys, the fans, have of course the right to disagree with my view and decision and I will always respect your opinions.
I love the club and the fans, no matter what happens. I have grown up and became a man during my time with Manchester United.
Everybody at the club and the fans have always supported me over the years and I have always given my all (and more) on and off the pitch.
I am very proud of being part of this fantastic club for the last 2 years. As soon as Mr. Woodward is back from his 2-week holiday in Bognor further meetings will follow and I will update you if and when there are more developments.

They are a team of great players, expensively assembled i grant you. held back for several seasons by a succession of muppet managers. we are doing exceptionally well to keep ahead of them. But this is a great opprtunity for us to catch them before they settle into a groove. hence the bad results at the start of the season. We know what we need to do to win THIS seasons title. It may not be possible next year.
Its no bad faith to admire their players. The team costs twice what ours does. but we can beat them. im sure of it

Based on his form this season I'm stunned no one snapped up Negredo when he was available for all those years. He was always one of those players that would do the rounds in the transfer rumours whilst at Sevilla yet no one took the plunge with him until this year.
Only 18 million as well, hardly Cavani, Falcao silly money territory either, something definitely within our bracket. Didn't think it was possible for them but Man City actually got a bargain for a player.
Also just highlights how over priced the Spanish Waiter at Spurs is. 28 million for a glorified pelanty taker. :haha::haha:

Yeah strange one, it was actually 14.6 million (plus add ons whatever those are) though. At that price though it's not a huge gamble and like you said the price is nothing like a Cavani or Falcoa or even a Costa that we're being linked with.

I must confess that I didn't know City had signed Negredo for such little money. Spuds must be kicking themselves. As pointed out, it is rather sickening that we could have had Negredo ourselves. He is genuinely quality and has some physical presence about him.

Wasn't he considered the runt of the Spanish litter?
A work horse, not particularly talented but a bit of a brute. I guess it's no wonder he's taken to the PL so well... though he is in a ridiculous team.
