Nadal :rose: :rose:.
Needs to remove the Kryptonite from his knee.
Darcis will obviously lose to Kubot.
A fully fit Hewitt would do this to most players who aren't 100% comfortable on grass. Being one of the best volleyers on tour helps him hugely too. That said, Fat Stan .
Also, Barry Davies' voice .

Keothavong a break down in the 2nd set
Herbert_Chapman's_Zombie
24-06-2013, 07:00 PM
the odds on Murray, Djokovic and Federer have probably been slashed a bit
Not that i thought Nadal would win anyway, my father who is 63 and requires keyhole surgery to remove cartildge from his knees probably has more reliable knees than Rafa.
All self-inflicted as well....i know he's clearly lost body mass in the last year but the incredible load he was putting on his lower body by being so top heavy and a leaning forward approach....means when the guy loses his pace and upper body strength he will be no threat to anyone. I wouldn't be surprised if he retired by 30!....if not before hand.

well he looked pretty faultless at the french, including beating the world number one, so he was marked down as one of the favs to do well. massive shock today.
it was his lack of grass prep that probably ruined it for him today more than anything. only one dodgy game on friday that he scraped through against Nishikori.
Cripps_orig
24-06-2013, 09:00 PM
He struggled in the early rounds of the French iirc and managed to get through cos it was clay.
He struggled today and lost.
He's finished as a top player IMO.
he started some games slowly but come the quarters he was firing again. we'll see if he's cooked but i hope not for the sake of the game.
He'll pick up a couple more French Opens, possibly even more than that. Nowhere else though.

Herbert_Chapman's_Zombie
25-06-2013, 06:48 AM
I personally can't stand him......don't know what it is.....but frankly he gambled his body and his fitness on winning what he has.
You know something has to be wrong when your suffering from tendinitis at 22/23......the strain his bulky frame was putting on his lower body has finally told....quite frankly sometimes i think he has exacerbated the extent of his injuries or playing through the pain barrrier in some matches to out psyche his opponent and get them to open up.
He seems like a nice guy on a personal level although he is starting to argue more with umpires than he ever previously used to.....but find him a very frustrating player to watch.....some of his forehand shots are out of this world but for just as much as the time his game is in forcing errors out of his opponents which sometimes makes the games less entertaining to watch.

What Tennis needs is a few new young faces to come through, at the moment the young hopefuls are considered to be Milos Raonic and Bernard Tomic and frankly both are terrible.

David Ferrer is up 3-0 against Alund. What a joke having him seeded ahead of Nadal.
I argued that with my mate yesterday, but on balance of what i saw of Nadal yesterday i think it was probably an accurate measurement.
We can talk up Steve Darsis all we like the fact remains, Nadal was a car crash yesterday....and even remotely fit and on form would have punished Darsis for the naivety in his play....look at the amount of times Darsis rushed to the net to finish off points....on any other day that's suicide against Nadal......he produced some amazing winners and was toe to toe on some brilliant rallies although this was clearly against someone who could not trust the dexterity of their own body.
Rosol was more of a shock because i don't think Nadal was anywhere near as bad last year....and Rosol's serving was just robotically efficient
