Tricky one. Don't want us to be out of the title race by the first 5 games like the last 2 years. But then again would also like us to get the trickiest fixtures out of the way while clubs like Man Utd are usually sleeping.

For a first game, I want to avoid the super quality teams: Man City, Cardiff, Chelsea.

Will take anyone else.

RedAction have reported that we got Southampton at home !

'Usual disclaimers apply on that opening fixture tweet (ie don't blame us if you bet your house and lose), but we have been right for 3yrs'

All that matters is the last fixture of the season, and Sp*rs last fixture which will decide who gets fourth.

I bet we get Sp*rs.

Why do we always get the toughest ties :banghead:

I know man, I can't believe we end up playing Chelsea and Man City EVERY year.

I think everyone realises that every team plays the same teams so in that sense the fixtures don't matter. But it's not unreasonable to say that we'd have preferred either that the tough run of fixtures occurred earlier in the season, or that they were more "spread out" so that the burden on the players in any month(s) is not too great. Last season we had a set of tough fixtures in around January and February time, with Man City, Chelsea and Liverpool, but at least near the end of the season we had an easier run in.

Sperz are the only top side we play before November, so hopefully we're able to rack up some points and at least habour some hopes of a title challenge.

Seems fine to me. Nice start, nice finish. It's what most teams would want.

After that it's fine though. Last 5 games is when the 4th place trophy is coming home.

Wasn't that a 2-2 at craven cottage?

Besides. 4 years then without a home game as final game. That needs to change

What are the odds of something with a 1 in 16 probability happening?

That's not bad. We should be able to maintain a title pretence until November.
