France has a decent squad these days, even without the likes of Nasri and Ribery in there still looks a strong team.

Yep, they could be the real dark horses for the world cup. They have some great talents developing, players like Pogba, Mangala, Matuidi & Varane. I really like the look of their squad.

If the likes of Ribery, Benzema an Nasri play well they really could make an impact.

Hodgson has said England will play 4-4-2 tonight, according to Henry Winter. So I guess that means Sterling out wide.

By far England's best player atm, should be given a free role behind Sturridge. Welbz on the bench.

So England will line-up like this:

-------------------Hart--------------------

Stones-----Jones-----Cahill-------Baines

Oxlade---Henderson--Wilshere---Sterling

------------Rooney--Sturridge------------

Unless he tries that diamond thingy, with Henderson on the right and Wilshere playing deep?

Saying that, Rooney will drop back into his own box anyway, so it doesn't really matter.

HT 0-0

Average start to the match with some good stuff every now and again, then drifted out to a pile of shit. Norway woeful, hardly opposition at all. England looked little bit dangerous when they played with a higher tempo. But then they slowed it all down and now they look like Arsenal on a slow day. Tip, tap, tip, tap. Lose it. Get it back. Tip, tap, tip, tap. The odd hoof to test Sturridge's first touch seems to be the main offensive tactic. But when Sturridge has combined with either Sterling on the left or Ox on the right there have been glimmers of hope. It's hard to beat Rooney though, easily Norway's best defender.

Niall_Quinn
03-09-2014, 09:54 PM
Here's the fat turd Martin Samuel's take:

"Captain Rooney saves the day from the spot but England lack fresh ideas in Norway win"

This is why England will never win anything, because an ignorant media decides who's undroppable and the manager can expect to get slaughtered if he doesn't go along with it. Gerrard and Rooney should have been out years ago but they media have kept them in place with their captain marvel bullshit. Maureen would be a good England manager because he'd tell them to fuck off and if any of them caught cancer he'd gouge their eyes out. The England team's aim should be to entertain paying fans, not pander to jolly seeking (so-called) journalists.

Niall_Quinn

Mokbel's ratings:

England: Hart 6, Stones 6.5 (Chambers 81), Jones 6.5, Cahill 6.5 (Jagielka 84), Baines 6, Oxlade-Chamberlain 6 (Delph 69, 6), Henderson 6, Wilshere 6.5 (Milner 69, 6), Sterling 7.5, Rooney 6.5 (Welbeck 70, 6), Sturridge 6.5 (Lambert 89).

You see? Rooney was better than Ox and as good as Sturridge. Good job we have these journos or all we'd be left with is the evidence of our own lying eyes.

Syn
03-09-2014, 10:06 PM
I think those are pretty sound ratings apart from the Rooney one. Put Rooney down to a 5 and I think that's fair. Being picky I'd probably bump Henderson up to a 6.5 and Cahill down to 6.
