a hero to many and a true great man. An inspiration to us all. We all knew it was coming given his recent health issues but still very sad. Rest In Peace, Nelson Mandela

I'm glad he has found relief from his long and courageous fight against his illness. He is the greatest political leader of my lifetime. A true inspiration.

27 years in prison. Not for a crime but for a right.

Unbelievable.

History in middle school was one of my favourite subjects simply because we got to research and do a presentation on the guy.

A true great.

The world is a poorer place without him, but a better place because of him. Very sad news.

A demagogue who as president tried to suppress the crime statistics, and strut around as an elected autocrat. His ANC committed terrorist acts and now have a hegemony of the political system.....more interested in being a celebrity than a serious politician and poverty, crime, Aids still prevalent in the country.
Not an evil man but to be honest if you look beyond the sound bytes hardly someone remarkably good either....

He thought it was the Ramsey thread.

I must say it's almost like Mr Ramsey is a completley different player now, not only his goal scoring but closing down of oponents in final third, the amount of goals he has had a hand in creating as well as scoring and his confidence and skill on the ball and in his passing. I reiterate that i am happy he has proven me wrong about him, the last Arsenal game i went to see i joined him when he rightfully got a standing ovation when he was substituted in the second half.....without any hesitation now considering how his early season form has continued through to december i can say he has been our best player this season, and probably the most improved player from one season to the next in the club's history.

I'd love to know who these cretins are that complain, not just on this story in particular but about anything trivial on TV.

They need to be punched in the face.

Interesting article about that 'selfie' by the person who took the picture of them taking the picture.

Cba reading all that. What's the gist of it, Letters?

*sigh*

The point is that there was a bit of a party atmosphere, it wasn't at all a sombre occasion but more of a celebration of Mandela's life and it wasn't as inappropriate a thing to do as may have appeared. Also that Michelle Obama was laughing and joking with them too and that picture just happened to catch her with a more serious expression.

In brief - more media shit-stirring about nothing.

I see.

I have nothing controversial to say about that unfortunately. Need more ammo.
