And Kompany, 27, says it is inevitable that City will do the quadruple at some stage in the near future.

"We can't promise it will happen now, but eventually it will have to happen," said the Belgium defender.

"We are the players at the moment who have been chosen to do it. If it's not us then it will be other players.

"This club definitely has a target to win every competition possible.

"We can't promise it will happen now, but eventually it will have to happen," said the Belgium defender.

He's right, with an endless supply of money and the non-corrupt governing body ensuring financial fair play levels the playing field even Abramovich will have to concede, they could buy him 50 times over. These are some of the biggest crooks on the planet running city and they have absolutely zero principles or morals, none whatsoever. Check out how these smiling, cosy individuals run their shitty little kingdom back home and how they treat the ranks of slaves that sustain it - no grey areas there and no regard for law or rules or basic human decency. I think we can guess how they view the concept of sportsmanship. Very, very unpleasant individuals. Their activities won't be limited to the field of play, that's for sure. And because crumbs fall from their table the rats who scurry around them will write it up as the biggest achievement in the history of the game. That's where the sport is heading unfortunately. It's good for the game apparently. But for now...

...we are top of the league whether the media like it or not.

Saw another write up in the Daily Hitler - Pellegrini or Mourinho, which one will win the title?

Let's all hope the correct answer is Wenger, so the game can survive as we know it a little bit longer.

Bitter little cock snot from Goonersweb wrote:

City is a once distinguished now despicable club that has been hijacked by arabs who stole a fortune based on some archaic notion they have a God given right to gather the resources of a nation into their own hands. They have tried to use the proceeds of their immoral activities to buy some sort of respectability in the UK, via ownership of what was once a football club. Because the FA is staffed by weak, greedy and incompetent cowards these arabs have achieved their goals, technically speaking, though surely nobody is really fooled?

Even with the obscene amounts of money they have ploughed into the attempted purchase of titles and trophies they have come up laughably short, beaten by a mediocre Man Utd last season and headed by an Arsenal in transition this year, not to mention a series of humiliations in the Champions League. It really is comedy stuff, like a heavyweight constantly being knocked out by a featherweight - you'd laugh your arse off if that happened but because there so much money in the equation people barely mention just how poorly they have performed comparatively.

Now they have ploughed hundreds of millions more into their efforts and by trail and error have eventually managed to staff almost every place in the squad with high fee/ high salary mercenaries to the extent they are virtually immune from the effects of injuries, suspensions and general fatigue.

If this is achievement of any kind then why not find the next boy scout selling lemonade, whip out your wallet and set up a bigger stand and put the kid out of business then gloat about it? See how it feels to be al-manchester city. Of course some people admire them for this, hard to know why but they do.

As for Arsenal, as much as we have all hated it, they run the club as a proper business. There is absolutely no comparison between the two in terms of business practices and the spirit of the game in general. The arabs are trying to buy what we already have, but they'll find their money can't buy everything.

I can taste your tears, they are bitter and salty but nothing ever tasted better.

Surely they can see their "achievements" are hollow?

It's not even that they can spend huge sums of money in the first place, that is a given nowadays sadly. It's that you can spend huge sums of money on several players, barely even play them and it makes not one jot of difference to their season. We spend big sums on players who don't work out and it fucks us over for the next 5 years.

I said it the other day, but there seems to be some surprise amongst pundits that without Aguero they carried on scoring. Without the £38m Aguero, they only had £27m Dzeko and £16m+ Negredo. Setting their goals up was £35m Fernandinho, £15m Navas, £22m Nasri, £25m Silva, £26m Milner, £25m Yaya and £17m Kolarov. Meanwhile £25m Jovetic is nowhere to be seen, sitting on the scrapheap along with the others they have discarded along the way.

It's not difficult to eventually fall into having an unstoppable team with their trial and error. Nobody should have admiration for that.

On the other hand, they aren't United. So they do have that going for them.

Marc Overmars
19-01-2014, 01:20 PM
Exactly. It would have crippled us had we spent over 100m on the likes of Adebayor, Robinho, Jo, Santa Cruz etc. Thats not even including wages.

Players who they've dumped and replaced with another 100m worth of talent. Rinse and repeat until the formula is right.

Extremely good team yes, but it's not an achievement by any stretch of the imagination.

Not the second coming of Christ like he's been made out to be though.

It's helped by the fact he's surrounded by a sea of shite in Utd's midfield so even looking half competent makes him a worldie in the eyes of the Mancs. Plus he's also featured in a lot more games than he should have because of the same fact.

Don't think he's any better than Gnabry tbh.
