When is The Rock back? Royal Rumble this month so must be very soon.

This coming Monday.

Can't wait for the promos between he and Punk.

Also, The Shield are awlsome.

Marc Overmars
03-01-2013, 10:48 AM
Do you think he'll win the title? He'd surely have to appear every week until WM if that were the case.

McNamara That Ghost...
03-01-2013, 10:58 AM
I do imagine he will; if he doesn't, then I'm expecting him to only lose from some kind of nefarious shenanigans. I'd rather not see Rock vs Cena at WM again though and I guess that would be likely if he does beat Punk.

Rock vs Cena II would be a bit

Cena would probably win that one as well.

I'm guessing Lesnar will probably be back soon as well. To feud with Undertaker?

Three guys from the NXT (developmental). They're a vigilante group that you'd expect to see in comics or something, come out and beat the shit out of anyone who they feel has been contributing to the 'unjust treatment' of various heels. Good music too, until they feel compelled to put lyrics in like they did for Ryback's theme.

Their match at TLC against Ryback, Kane and Daniel Bryan was great.

And MO, that is one of the supposed matches but then so has been Punk vs Undertaker.

No, on RAW. He is on Smackdown this week too though.

If he has matches, they will be tags at best, so as to not risk injuring him. That's the thing about him winning the title, not sure how he can defend it at Elimination Chamber.

20th anniversary of RAW this Monday, supposedly some of the special guests will comprise of those not at RAW 1000. Stone Cold hopefully, given it is in Texas.

Wrestling's Michael Johnson (not that one).

Also, I thought RAW was quite poor. None of the legends appeared, they had prior arrangements or weren't asked to attend, stupid way to make an anniversary show.

Good to see fisticuffs between Punk/Rock.

Just watched it, well fast-forwarded through most of it and yeah it seemed a bit samey, didn't have the same vibe as Raw 1000.

Watched a bit of Smackdown tonight after I read there would be a Rock/Punk promo. Looking forward to Sunday, I've got a feeling Punk will win via interference from Lesnar. With WM coming up I'm guessing he needs a feud.

Got a bad feeling that the battle royal will be before the WWE title match

Anyway predictions?

WWE Champion CM Punk vs. The Rock - Rock but he won't win the title
World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio vs. Big Show (Last Man Standing Match) - ADR
30-Man Royal Rumble Match - Orton
WWE Tag Team Champions Team Hell No vs. Team Rhodes Scholars - Hell No
U.S. Champion Antonio Cesaro vs. The Miz (Pre-Show) - Cesaro

Any possible surprise entrants in the rumble? Commentators to be in it again?

McNamara That Ghost...
27-01-2013, 08:07 PM
I think it is supposed to be kept until last.

Rock via DQ.
ADR, Ziggler to cash in (it has to happen at some point).
Cena.
Hell No.
Cesaro.

If there is a random women's match, Kaitlyn.

Also, Iron Man prediction: Ziggler.

And most eliminations: Ryback.

Not that many surprise entrants mentioned, possibly DDP and the Hurricane. Perhaps Kevin Nash if he can hobble down in time.

So...Rock vs Cena II then?

McNamara That Ghost...
28-01-2013, 11:19 AM

Pretty much.

Cena will win this time. We will never see The Rock wrestle again. It's an end of an era

13-02-2013, 12:53 AM
Punk steals the belt off the Rock who managed to turn up at Raw this week. Never seen a belt stealing storyline before

Cena, Ryback and Seamus to take on the Shield at EC. From what I've seen of The Shield which isn't much, they seem a bit pub teamesque.

Bruno Sammartino is finally inducted in the HoF.

What's going on with the Undertaker? Surely he has to be at WM. Wouldn't be the same. Likely opponents? Brock maybe? Sting? Would love it if Kurt Angle was the guy.

Marc Overmars
18-02-2013, 12:46 PM
Rock vs Cena II is set then.

I'm hoping for Punk vs Lesnar, could be a good feud there with Heyman stirring the pot.

McNamara That Ghost...
18-02-2013, 12:58 PM
I think that might well happen if 'Taker can't go this year. Won't seem right not hearing Undertaker's dong though.

EC was ok, I'd have thought Punk would have The Shield come in and beat the crap out of him so he wins the title in dubious manner but I guess we can't interfere with 'Twice in a Lifetime'.

Marc Overmars
18-02-2013, 01:45 PM
It does take some of the shine off last year, although presuming Cena wins it will be the right way to end the feud for both I'd have thought.

Is Undertaker injured? Little bit shit if he's not involved.

McNamara That Ghost...
18-02-2013, 02:32 PM
I don't think he's injured but I think they're wary of him possibly getting injured and/or completely breaking down. That's going to be the case from now until the day he finally packs it in though so they should just send him out there anyway.

Cena will win for sure. Therefore I won't be spending money on watching it.

Cripps_orig
18-02-2013, 02:43 PM
There was only one EC match in an event called Elimination Chamber. Impressive. Don't they usually have 2? One for each brand? Also Swagger won? Wtf is up with that? I haven't watched it regularly for months. Last I heard of him, he was on a losing streak now he's headlining WM. Surely Ziggler deserves that.

As for Taker, he'll have to make an appearance soon to build up any match he might have at WM. My main regret, I never saw him live.

McNamara That Ghost...
18-02-2013, 02:48 PM
The brand split is near enough dead now. The Elimination Chamber match they had wasn't even for the title.

It's about time they stopped with the 'gimmick' PPV names.

Marc Overmars
19-02-2013, 09:18 AM
Saw a pic of the new title belt, looks a lot better but they didn't need to personalise it.

McNamara That Ghost...

Marc Overmars
26-02-2013, 11:51 AM
Which leaves Punk as the remaining top name without a match. Has to be Undertaker?

McNamara That Ghost...
26-02-2013, 11:57 AM
I would say so. Next week's RAW is supposed to be 'Old School', which obviously fits in to a move 'Taker uses.

Cripps_orig
12-03-2013, 02:42 PM
It was all about Paul Bearer and building up the Undertaker/Punk match. Still, surprising there was no sign of Cena at least.

I think Punk is awesome and no doubt he got the ok from WWE and Taker to do what he did but just thought paying proper respect to Paul Bearer would be have been better. Nevertheless it puts incredible heat on Punk for WM.

And amazingly much of it consisted of singing the theme music to a wrestler who six weeks ago was expected to be a major flop.

WWE Raw came from the Izod Centre, New Jersey, just yards from MetLife Stadium where Wrestlemania took place 24 hours previously.

It promised to be a historic show, as Raw the night after Mania tends to be. It was — but not for the reasons expected.

Throughout the three-hour show, the spectacle became the range of chants, resembling a football match, which at times entirely distracted from the in-ring action.

Things started with John Cena, who as expected was booed and taunted by fans.

Cena’s reaction was hilarious, though, including him pretending to dance a ‘heel turn’, a direct reference to a group of hardcore fans wanting to see him as an on-screen villain.

Then came the indicator that it was the transatlantic travelling fans that were the catalyst.

England’s Wade Barrett was rapturously cheered — a rare occurrence outside of the UK.

Barrett received chants of ‘Eng-er-land’ and ‘Wade Barrett’s barmy army’ before getting a massive ovation as he won the intercontinental title back from The Miz.

Soon, after Alberto Del Rio had been left ‘injured’ following a match with Jack Swagger, Dolph Ziggler cashed in Money in the Bank to become the new world heavyweight champion.

The reaction for his appearance and subsequent win was as loud as anything on Raw this century.

But it was when Sheamus and Randy Orton entered the ring that things went up a notch.

Before the fight began Orton appeared to entirely lose his stride, pausing mid-sentence and asking the Irishman, off mic, “What’s my line?”.

Once their match started – a perfectly acceptable encounter, by the way – all hell broke loose.

The fans, rejecting what they were presented with, made their own fun.

Chants came not for the two men in the ring but for Mike Chioda the referee, all three commentators, the late Randy Savage, Rob Van Dam (a free agent rumoured to be heading back to WWE) HBK and others, before it turned into a Mexican wave.

Before the match came to a conclusion, the 500lb Big Show monster they had teamed with the evening before came and took them both out. “Thank you, Big Show” cried New Jersey, in unison.

And there was Fandango. The man with the dancing gimmick waltzed to the ring, and the crowd began to join in with his entrance music. They then continued to sing it well into his match.

The crowd popped heavily for a Jericho run-in and beatdown, but resumed their cheers for Fandango after the fallen dancer breathlessly repeated his name, restarting their rendition of his theme.

The next match was the eight-person tag dropped from Mania involving Tons of Funk, Rhodes Scholars and The Bellas.

The crowd opted to ignore this and continue singing the Fandango theme.

The main event was John Cena v Mark Henry (the fans sang the World’s Strongest Man’s theme too) and as the new champ and his mammoth opponent locked the audience... sang the Fandango song again.

John Cena even danced a little to acknowledge their singing and got a rare ovation for doing so.

By the end of the night he had been left lying by Ryback, but this wasn’t the story.

On a night where two titles changed hands, storylines progressed and even Undertaker made an appearance that may signal his involvement at the next Pay Per View, the story of Raw was the crowd.

Last night the theme, named ‘ChaChaLaLa’, was at 156 in the UK iTunes charts – and rising.

We at SunSport supporting the campaign to get it charting. You can purchase it here.

Now, if you’ll excuse us, Raw in London at the O2 Arena is only a couple of weeks away, and we have a quickstep to learn.

Duh Duh. Da da dada da da da da. Duh duh dada da da da da...

Yeah, 3-3 with Kane and D-Bryan against The Shield.

Also, MO, Punk is supposed to be taking a couple of months off to heal his leg also so it could well suck the big one until Money In The Bank. Hopefully he dons the commentary blazer though.

Very unlikely for Lesnar to appear but I suppose there is a 7 or 8 chance of Triple being there to answer the cage match challenge.

Rock and Punk no chance, and I have no idea about Jericho as I haven't followed his feuds.

Awesome that Undertaker will be there though, I bet most American fans are jealous considering he doesn't have normal matches anymore.

THE ROCK has been told to “grow up” and stop wrestling for the WWE by a top Hollywood movie director.

Michael Bay, whose credits include Bad Boys and Transformers, blasted the popular star after he missed the Los Angeles premiere for their new movie Pain & Gain.

Rock failed to show after undergoing surgery on abdominal and hernia injuries sustained during his WrestleMania main event loss to John Cena in New Jersey.

And his absence did not go down well with Bay. He fumed: “He was pushing it too hard. He needs to grow up and stop wrestling 300lb men.”

Rock was scheduled to begin a programme with Brock Lesnar immediately after Mania to set up plans for next year’s event.

However, due to his injury setback, the 40-year-old has now hinted the Cena match could have been his swansong.

Rock, who also headlined last year’s Mania with Cena in Miami, recently told New York radio host Peter Rosenberg: “Was it my last match? Possibly.

“I’m really not too sure and I wouldn’t rule it out.

“The plan the whole time was to create the Miami WrestleMania and create the biggest show of all time in the biggest market of New York.

“The original plan [after WrestleMania 29] was possibly Brock and myself. That was the next thing that made sense to me.

“I love Brock and we’ve been friends for over a decade now. We could have a great, athletic match. That was the plan.

“But, when I tore tendons off my pelvis, I had to fly home that day, so we couldn’t do what we wanted to do at Raw that day. Possibly down the road.”

That match for the Miz will probably be about five minutes long anyway.

I expect I will be watching this half asleep. Would've wanted to see the ladder match but Ziggler's brain got bashed.

One to read on 411/Wrestling Observer, and possibly get on DVD in five years time I reckon

Just reading the Extreme Rules results, seemed like quite a good event.

I fear we're getting Cena - Ryback all the way to Summerslam, so expect a very screwy finish in that one. "This feud must continue!"

The end of team hell no?

Hope not.

The Shield are awesome though. Still don't know who is who tbh

Watched some of Raw to see who this new Paul Heyman guy was and I thought I recognised his theme music.

The second time he's been given a stupid name. Just call him Joe Hennig for crying out loud (which is how he is credited on the NWO DVD)!

I like it tbh.

If that's what they wanted to do, then 'Joe 'The Axe' Hennig' would have sufficed. (Hence Scott Putski also being known as the "Polish Hammer" )

Heyman said on Smackdown he was the architect behind Punk's title reign.

Punk's return can't be far away with those seeds being planted.

Just finished the 'documentary' on '50 Greatest Finishing Moves'. Decent, but the comments (which for some reason are mainly from Kofi, McIntyre and Clay) get repetitive quickly, so Interview Bingo on "When he hits that. 1-2-3. You're not getting up" would be a rather pointless game....
Not going to spoil the countdown, but there really are some WTF choices in there, especially early on..!

Luckily the selection of matches on Discs2 and 3 is very wide-ranging, so looking forward to getting stuck into them pre-CL Final!

I'll watch the Raw one tonight after the match.

Well some of it as its over 6 hours long. I missed the early years of Raw and of course the Attitude era will be included. Can't wait.

Never was a big Bret fan. But his book was awesome and the Montreal screw job is sure to be talked about. Was a must get. Neither was cheap to get tbh but I'm a bit DVD crazy.

Wow, that Bret - Backlund match from Superstars, July 1994 is absolutely fantastic.
