It's on Arsenal.com.

Wenger signs a 25 year old, top class keeper to contend with Szczesny. What do you think they're smoking over there at the Emirates?

There is no question that the tables have turned. We are now through the transition period. Ours is a club that has built a foundation from which to grow. I doubt it will be enough to win us the league this year, but we are using our resources to put us in position to maintain a substantive challenge. If we do find ourselves in a similar position to the one we were in last January, it will be interesting to see if we continue to build the squad then if that is what is required.

Why can't we win the league? We were 7 points off with Giroud as our only striker last season. We've added Sanchez; the agile alternative we were looking for.

We can go all the way.

Why didn't we do this last year, more like. The league was wide open.

No idea what's going to happen this year but we're putting together a solid squad so anything is possible.

Never even heard of him, not one of Nice's star players, not sure why we're splashing out 3 million on this guy.

I'm not saying we can't win it this year. You make a good point however about last year. Had we bolstered the squad up front by either providing more support or even having someone take over from Giroud as the main striker, we could have won it.

My main point however is that I am happy that we now have a strategy in place where we are making use of our resources to enhance our chances of winning the league rather than trying to challenge with one hand tied behind our backs.

Szczesny is a brilliant goalkeeper who barely put a foot/hand wrong last season. He's still extremely young for a keeper too. I fully expect him to keep his place for years to come. Unless he has a breakdown.

If Ospina is good enough to oust him as the number one, then we'll be fortunate to have two absolutely outstanding players in a crucial position.

Welcome Ospina .

He can also tap up Ham Ess in a couple of years to be our Cathorla replacement after Real Madrid replace him with Max Meyer or Ross Barkley.

David Ospina will join Arsenal Football Club on a long-term contract for an undisclosed fee.

The 25-year-old goalkeeper had an impressive World Cup with Colombia, helping his country to the quarter finals in Brazil with a series of fine displays.

He arrives at Emirates Stadium from French side Nice, where he made 189 Ligue 1 appearances during a six-year spell.

Ospina began his career with Atletico Nacional in Colombia’s Categoria Primera A league, aged just 17. An experienced international, he currently has 49 caps for his country.

Arsène Wenger said of the club’s new signing: “David Ospina is an excellent goalkeeper, with good experience and a proven record of performing with Nice and Colombia. He will add strength to our squad and we are very pleased that he will be joining us."

It is expected Ospina will make his first Arsenal appearance at the Emirates Cup, which takes place at Emirates Stadium on Saturday, August 2 and Sunday, August 3.

Ospina’s Arsenal squad number will be revealed soon through Arsenal’s official Instagram account.

Everyone at Arsenal would like to welcome David to the Club.

The transfer is subject to the completion of regulatory processes.

Seems like a pretty good keeper, be interesting to see how we juggle both keepers.

That's much better than any of the three outfield kits.

Dodgy kit. Looks like a ref. We could end up accidentally hating him and calling him a cunt and hoping he dies, then we'd get all guilty afterwards.

This is a really solid signing IMO. Happy with this and geniuenly feel he will push Chesney all the way. He certainly hasn't come here to be the outright number 2.

Wenget has said Chensey will start the season as number 1, but he's certainly got some serious competition now.

Yep, to be fair to Chesney, Flappy put him under pressure for the number 1 spot last season after his excellent performances in the FA Cup, I am hoping the same will happen with Ospina.
