My summary tbh.

Doesn't factor into the PUMA deal or this summer transfers but by the looks of it we're only really behind the real elite clubs (Man Utd, RM, Barca and Bayern) especially when it comes to commercial revenue. We should be able to improve that by bringing in secondary sponsors around the world (like United have done) and whoring ourselves out a bit more but it will also need success on the pitch and CL football - sponsors won't part good money to be associated with a losing team.

If we pick up a CL win and also perhaps dominate the PL over the next five years we also do have the capability of moving into that aforementioned elite group. It's over to Arsene and the playing staff now to start delivering on the investment we've made in the past two years and probably will continue to make over the coming years given our healthy cash reserves.

He goes into plenty of detail, and then says he has no idea how much cash we have available for transfers.

Interesting if you like financial analysis. If you don't, then just make it up like the rest of the media.

We have a 100m warchest.

The exact figure probably isn't important anyway - we only really need a DM and a backup CB in the immediate/short-term, and it looks like we have more than enough there to cover those two moves (if we can find the players) (and they're available). Beyond that we're really looking a non-essential upgrades and luxury-buys - signings that we can make at our leisure, and that can certainly wait until next summer - so who cares how much more we have available to spend?

Fair play to the club though - I know we're still a couple of players light, but if we carry on doing what we did this summer (i.e. keep investing an appropriate amount of money in the squad without having the heart of the side ripped out), then I won't complain if we also keep managing to turn a profit. Best of both worlds.

DM and CB in January though please :good:
