Aguero, Eriksen equalizes immediately, Aguero pelanty. Lampard off injured with some sort of thigh injury. And Aguero has just missed another penalty and an acrobatic rebound.

Really we are starting to make ourselves look very short sighted and silly

Owen Coyle
David Moyes

Roberto Martinez
And now Ronald Koeman

Who is going to be the next flavour of the month I wonder?

Things aren't just going to get better like that, I'm surprised that so many people who have ridden the stagnation train for as long as many of us have always want to get off at the next stop.

The AGM on Thursday has proved that simply getting rid of Wenger will solve nothing, our club is run by the majority shareholder whose various sports enterprises in the states exist to line his own pocket and why is Arsenal going to be any different. On the other hand we have Mephistopheles, a man so grotesque both in appearance and behaviour that if he takes ownership we might as well smear the Emirates in excrement as we would be doing so figuratively anyway.

And your beloved David Dein the knight in shining armour who is the only man surely who can save our beloved football club is the man who brought those perfidious turds Kroenke and Usmanov to the table.

I think people in general are not only very short sighted but cry for the moon.

Unless there is a complete change from top to bottom of ownership at the club it will matter not one jot who sits in the dugouts on match days.

No, it'll be a draw.

It'll be a heroic draw once we kick Wenger's tip tap tactics to the kerb in a frantic search for an equaliser with five minutes to go.

Any number of people who in the fullness of time have proven to be no better than what we've got, and if we are insisting on having someone who isn't any better it seems more sensible to avoid the upheaval whilst we nod like dogs of Pavlov at the media created cataclysm and yawn into fourth place.

The board are not the ones who oversee training, pick the team and instruct the players on matchdays. No doubting Wenger is hardwired into every aspect of the club, but I think it's naive to think another manager couldn't deliver a tangible and positive impact on a team who are just going through the motions.

Herbert_Chapman's_Zombie
18-10-2014, 06:12 PM
My point is I can't see how this would change under a new manager, not without massive investment in the team and by massive investment I mean completely destroying and rebuilding from top to bottom. Sanchez aside there's not one player at the club who deserves to be part of a title winning side currently. That kind of mentality and skill costs money the board either doesn't have or won't invest.
A better manager won't make Arteta and Flamini less shit, they won't stop the rot with most of our players and their sideways passing its too ingrained.

Herbert_Chapman's_Zombie

A new managerial system from top to bottom would have to be in place for a new manager to be of any benefit to us, and that's the kind of time, patience and interest in the footballing side of Arsenal the board just don't have.

Marc Overmars
18-10-2014, 06:22 PM
My point is I can't see how this would change under a new manager, not without massive investment in the team and by massive investment I mean completely destroying and rebuilding from top to bottom.

This is where I disagree. We have only ever been 2 maybe 3 players short. We've invested heavily over the past 2 summers but sod all has changed because the manager doesn't sufficiently care to strengthen in the areas he needs to most. Too much misplaced faith in players who consistently let him down but the penny never seems to drop.

I don't know who is suitable to replace him but what I do believe is that a change is needed in the dugout.

As for the board, they are responsible for accepting this bare minimum mentality, and I'm sure they will do the same with a new manager, but at least a new manager might be able to raise that bar.

Herbert_Chapman's_Zombie
18-10-2014, 06:29 PM
It really isn't just lacking two or three players

It's also too many of the players we have are only ever capable of showing glimpses of potential and no matter what training methods you use or what system you use that's not going to change.

Marc Overmars
18-10-2014, 06:35 PM
I'll have to agree to disagree because you seem to place the buck with the players (who are not blameless granted), but I believe the manager is the root cause because he has been the one constant. What we are talking about now in regards to the team and performance is no different to what we spoke about 5 years ago.

I believe there is potentially a tangible (but not guaranteed of course) effect to be had from appointing a new manager with his own ideas, though who that new manager is is another debate completely. All we do know is that Wenger has nothing left to give and is running on empty, there is no match savvy whatsoever.

Managers come and go, teams improve or worsen, players can respond to new methods and voices, it happens all the time. It's just a risk I've come round to the idea of taking because I know I'm struggling to remain supportive and hopeful with what we're seeing right now.

Xhaka Can’t
18-10-2014, 08:10 PM
Players have come and gone.

Wenger is solely to blame for the malaise and stagnation.

Arsenal 8th!

You look at swansea and the way they approach games, its refresshing to see and having a new manager (who had a tough task after what Laudrup and Rodgers did) is sometimes the best solution despite what the media says.

Under AW lately, we can never go to Stoke and really stamp our authority on the game and dominate. We'd most likely concede first and lose eventualy.

Sessegnon puts West Brom ahead. Cutback from the wing, instant shot. We don't score that type of goal. If it had reached Wilshere he would have passed it and tried another triangle.

So 1 point better off than this time last season and at that point they had a far tougher run of games than this season and didn't spend £200m either.

Hmm.
