In the current calendar year, we have played 17 times

Won 6 Drawn 5 Lost 6

Goals scored 24
Goals conceded 21

In ten home games we have scored ten goals, and have been leading at half time in precisely zero of those games.

In 12 games both league and cup against premier league opposistion we have
Won 4, drawn 4, lost 4

We have won 30% of our league games winning three, drawing four and losing three

We have been leading at half time in two of those ten games

This isn't just a slump that started a few weeks ago.

Look, we lacked little bit sharpness in 2016 perhaps.

It isn't, but it has got worse in the last month. 5 of the 6 wins and only one of the losses were up to and including the Leicester game on 14th Feb after which we were only 2 points off the top. It's all gone much wronger since then.

I wonder if things would have been different had we just drew with City. Maybe then we would have continued to pick up results without having to deal with the expectation of being favourites.

A shocking collapse.

After the Leicester game we were 2 points off the top, still in all the cups.
1 win in 8 later (ONE!) and we're out of everything.

But there are trends of these long lasting collapses which get obscured by smaller far more dramatic plummeting in performances and results.

For instance in 2011 after the Carling cup defeat between March and October 2011 we won four out of eighteen league games.

Then we went on to win seven out of the next eight.

Exemplifies Arsenal totally, except this season we haven't even had any real continuous run of good form barring the five league wins in a row between September and November. Even at our best we look like treading water.

We are in the haemorrhaging period. Then onto to bullshit period where the season tickets are renewed. Then the wanting period. Then the waiting period. Then the tumble-weed period. Then the disbelief and green with envy periods. Then the blame Euro 2016 period. Then the delusional period and back to the haemorrhaging period.

But we have been unlucky and showed good desire and commitment and we are only 2% off winning these games and on 95% of these occasions we would have won the matches assuming we show the necessary efficiency in front of goal.
