the greatest save made by an arsenal keeper ever?
Best keeper we've ever had, noone else comes close for me.

Might just be the best save by any keeper ever. I was at the far end and didn't really see what happened but couldn't quite understand how they hadn't scored.
Saw it again on a screen in the ground after the game, absolutely incredible.

Agreed.
Wenger
:d
More seriously, I remember being disappointed when we sold Lukic and got Seaman but it was a fantastic signing.
Cech is the best we've had since, no-one else comes close.

Still remember watching that game live
Remember our goal, the ref ran into their player and Ljungberg scored?
Warnock was MAD

Seaman was a legend for us, i loved him. However, on ability alone, i think Cech is slightly better.

Started going to Arsenal in 87/88, so coming up to the end of Lukic and the start of Seaman. Think I thought a lot of him because he was there through the years I was super passionate about Arsenal through my final years of primary school and secondary school. What a brilliant keeper he was for us and very rarely let us down. Happy days.
dad always bangs on about Pat Jennings, but never saw him play so couldnt compare.

Love that save, even more impressive considering he was in his late 30's and his ability was called into question after a few errors.

I thought a big part of the lack of success between 06-11 was our lack of a proper keeper. We stuck with the poor quality ones like Almunia who i thought was the worst goalkeeper in the premier league. Instead of going out and buying an established keeper Wenger just stuck by his keepers and showed loyalty to them, i think goalkeeper is the one position in football in which you can't afford to fuck around in because a weak goalkeeper costs you more points than any other weak player in a team.
I thought the English spine we had has never really been adequately replaced since 2004 we've not had the chance to build a team that can gel properly.

Best GK in our history so of course Wenger sold him.

Your Dad's right. Pat Jennings was better than even Seaman. I know, I was there to see the shovel handed Irish genius.

Yes he was, even though he was once a spud. Lorimar hammering the ball at him and Pat would just casually bat it down and gather it up. Coolest customer on the pitch.
