I think we will lose this one
We've already qualified so we'll play the kids and wasters like Nketiah and Walcott.

I think we will lose this one
A draw in the other game sees us go through as winners regardless

Probably be a similar performance to the one against Red Star at home. The job is as good as done so I’m sure the mash up of players in the squad will be going through the motions.

Welbz should be back for this and the likes of bif, jack, walnut getting a game.

What is that shit kit we are wearing today? Our 9th kit? Looks like we found it in a bin somewhere and forgot to wipe all the shit off it.
Master Splinter

Coquelin shoots just wide.
Niall_Quinn
23-11-2017, 06:17 PM
Elneny is shit. He's a lazy bastard who refuses to focus. Some of the passes he fucks up are unbelievable. 2 yards, no pressure, still fucks it.

It might be an idea to train our players how to cross a ball.
McNamara That Ghost...
23-11-2017, 06:56 PM
I saw the last 20 minutes of it, little bit uninspiring.
Though perhaps not a surprise given what our midfield is (though aware applicable throughout the season so far).

Welbeck off, presumably injured.
Iwobi on.

Is coquelin kicking and dribbling the ball out of play on purpose?

Chambers
Where's the captain to scream at him for crap like that?
Niall_Quinn
23-11-2017, 07:19 PM
Elneny is just about the worst player we could pick to take the set pieces.

McNamara That Ghost...

Atrocious from Wilshere
Niall_Quinn
23-11-2017, 07:49 PM
Wilshere is just pitiful. His first instinct is to run headlong into the opponent. He's the old Elneny and the new Theo.
McNamara That Ghost...

As poor as we have been, Koln have been as bad as Watford were in that game where the ref decided to give the home team a non-pelanty and change the result to his liking. We've had enough clear chances to score at least four and with some care in the final third, maybe even double that.

Totally inept in the final third. How many so-called crosses and corners went to the opposition. Just about every last one. Wenker should have been off the bench ordering Elneny to sit down every time we had a set piece. And somebody needs to give Jack a basic physics lesson so he realises passing through solid matter is difficult and there are easier options.

Winning the group by 4 points when the top 2 go through?
Exactly what Wenker himself would say.
No, I'm talking about this travesty of a performance. We didn't need to win to go through, we didn't even need a draw. All we needed to do was physically turn up and so that's what we did. No team. No tactics. No energy. No goals. No points. And we're through. It's classic Wenker, with his loathing of consistency and momentum. We wait to see how the cunt will wreck the team on Sunday.

You were asking in another thread how unbelievable shit happens.
The answer, which also applies to this discussion, is complacency.
"Reasonable" people and their endless complacency is why so much of the world is broken. And "reasonable" people and their complacency is why half the Arsenal fan base hasn't been able to apply sufficient heat to a fraud like Wenger. There's always a snivelling wretch who pitches up to defend or deflect. Wenger is most grateful, even though he doesn't know your name.

There is something in that but these results happen to pretty much every team. We do admittedly have a history of taking our foot off the pedal too early (again, that is something we used to do in the good years under Wenger too).
At least we did it this time after we'd won the group.

No I’m sorry, that’s patently untrue
I think back ten years to when we were unbeaten up until November and we got turned over by Sevilla 3-1
Was not happy at all. I don’t think any defeat warrants a shrug of the shoulders.
The problem of losing to a team like this 1-0 is that even with the team we put out, we shouldn’t be failing to score against them

To me this is one of those "All losses are equal but some are more equal than others" thing.
I'd care more had we lost to Spurs and will do if we lose at the weekend.
Last night we'd already won the group. Koln needed to win to qualify. Sounds like a pretty bad game all round but while we shouldn't ever be indifferent about a loss I'm not going to wail and gnash my teeth about this one.
Had it caused us to slip to second in the group or, worse, not qualify at all then that would be different.
