The thing with Atletico is that they don’t concede many goals, especially in Europe (over two legs, they have knocked out really strong Barca an Bayern sides, they know how these games work) and it will have to take 200 percent effort and concentration from our lot to stand a chance. We make too many errors and always concede goals, which is almost the opposite of Atletico.

But positive, fast and forward looking football is still what we need because that other thing we do, the tip tap, is a certain recipe for a loss. We haven’t really got the players to replicate their approach in all honesty, our players are wired in a completely different way.

but if you do play quick positive football any team can get rattled by that. we have to be quick out of the traps. Cant afford a slow start against a quality team.

I think in the first 10/15 minutes they will probably try to catch us cold and come at us (as their homework on us will encourage them to do) and then if they get an away goal (the importance of which we know well), we will of course need to come out and recover, by which point they will sit back a bit.

I think if they go 442, they will probably just bypass our midfield all together and will rely on isolating individuals in our back line, rather than running rings around us in midfield.

They weren't. I know 2 season ticket holders who said it was a very half arsed reception and it was only a minority who sang "One Arsene Wenger". Stinking the place out for 60 minutes probably had something to do with it.
