disappointing draws against Tunisia and Panama will see us needing to beat Belgium 8-0 to go through

result: England lose to Belgium through Welbeck OG

anyone else want to have a go?

They've virtually got a bye to the latter stages haven't they? Managed to avoid Iceland and everything. So easy through the groups stage, huge hype about England winning it (delivered into camera with a straight face) and then knocked the fuck out as soon as they face a half decent team.

And Wenger's not even managing them yet.

Probably second round, possibly quarter final.

Zero chance of going any further unless there is a miracle.

How many get out of the group, is it one and best runner up. Can't see us getting past the group stage if it is.

Daily Fail somehow found space in the Royalist propaganda sheet to stab up Jack this morning, reiterating Keane's "most overrated" comments. Nice. The kid will be gutted, so stick the boot in. They use stats so it must be true. Right below, they have another grovelling Rooney piece. Should he go to the States, should he become a coach? But definitely not one of the most overrated players of all time, especially on the International stage. No stats provided.

Jack's not the world beater he once promised to become. We all know that and some of the blame rests with him, a lot of it rests with Wenger. It is what it is. But even on his worst day he's worth twice a Henderson and five Delphs.

But their coverage of the royal wedding is second to none.

Unconvincing wins against Tunisia and Panama to get everyone singing that it's coming home.

Get spanked by Belgium, after which everyone says it doesn't matter because we've already qualified.

Scrape through the last 16 against Japan or some other filth, guys it genuinely is coming home.

Play Brazil in the quarters, get absolutely battered every which way undoing any hope the nation ever had.

"I never believed anyway".

Has crazy tournament left England as favourites to reach final?
Give it a rest. They have seen England miss loads of chances and vulnerability in defence, especially the goalkeeper. One game at at time. If the players are buying into this hype they won't be up for these matches as they should be thinking that they're already there.

Getting too giddy so the inevitable slap down must be coming.

Every single team in this side of the draw will be fancying their chances and certainly no one is going to fear England.

Fine if you're a nation with a history of success then of course you'll be licking your lips at this draw but England have absolutely no right to have designs on reaching the final based on a supposedly easy draw. Lets just win a knockout game first, that in itself would be a minor achievement.

After all the shit he has been given, Welbeck to get the World Cup winner?

It is weirdly plausible that we could get to the final.
I think I'd actually be feeling ill watching it, if we do

But it's certainly equally plausible, probably more-so, that we'll fluff our lines at some point and limp out.
