Scratchy but satisfying in the end.

We're more capable of losing 2-0 away though. so still a bit eek but a lot happier with that then 10 minutes ago.

On a more positive note:

We're the only Premier League club to win midweek.

Pride of Europe.

Still a worry for the second leg but I think this is a big win for the run in.

At the start we looked like a team that had lost 4 of the last 5.

Great comeback and a win over Brighton would hopefully get us back on song to do the job next week (would happily take a draw) and maybe () win away to Burnley with an outside chance of top 4.

Feeling much better now we got the third.

It's still going to very difficult next week but hopefully we deal with the pressure as well as we did at Napoli.

Come on you Gunners! We're the famous Arsenal and we're going to...Baku.

Auba and Laca were both superb today.

Shame Laca fluffed those chances though.

Ancient men Koscielny and Cech saved us a few times.

It was a dreadful start but as soon as we equalised, everything turned. Valencia only had one good chance after that and it was the inability to put our chances away that was more worrying than the opposition.

Even the ref was fine today.

Great result due to the one thing Emery has gotten right so far, the front 2 together.

BTW when last did we have a front 2 as dangerous as these guys with this kind of understanding and injury history? I mean RVP was never that great with Henry, him and Adethewhore almost killed themselves and Eduardo was so unlucky with injuries.

It's probably going be a pairing that involves Bergkamp but DB was never that lethal or forceful and always made players he played with look better and take the shine. Maybe if Anelka had played with Henry?

Anyway, I wish we could spend all our effort, time and more importantly money on sorting out our defence and getting that midfield balance right again.

I think we've got the dream strikeforce we've been yearning for, finally, its just everything else has fallen apart. Thanks AW, for the strikers and the problems.

Thoughts we responded really well after their early goal.
Second half was a bit of a nothing performance (my stream was pretty dodgy in the second half) and it looked like it was going to peter out to a 2-1.
Absolutely vital to get that 3rd goal.

In brief:  :partytime: :patrice: :scarf:

I think we'll go through.

Once I saw the draw, I always felt Emery would get one over his old club.

However I don't know what we'll do in the final, especially as it's a one off game and if we start as silly as we did today, any serious team will just score and shut up shop against us for the remaining 80 mins.

I really don't want to meet Chelsea but don't think we'd be that great against the Germans either. But anyway it's been a good day and a good run so far, so lets get back to our bread n butter, here we come seagulls :D

The final would be a complete 50-50 game regardless of who goes through, but yeah the thought of it being Chelsea just has too much  potential.

Let’s just get the job done next week before concerning ourselves with that though. Still think there might be an opportunity to finish 4th as well, so I hope we take the Brighton game seriously and then see what happens on the final day.

Goal at the end put a nice shine one it. Don’t think Valencia have the firepower to put us out. On to the next one. Up the Arse!

Good result after the start we had. But it was nice playing a proper Europa league side this year and not a CL elect team who messed up like A Madrid last year.

If things go badly, we could get pipped by the Chavs in the league and Europa.

Anyway it has been a marvellous May and our troops deserve all the praise and cash they get.

It was a decent result, slightly “meh” performance in stages though, I was shocked how easily they cut us apart.

I'm nervous about next week though feel we will score over there so should be OK.

The final assuming we make it against presumably the Chavs scares me, I think they will finish 4th and the thought of them beating us in the final sickens me. 😌

Decent result in the end, it was a bit touch and go though at 2-1 I didn't fancy our chances. 3-1 should be fine providing we don't concede one of those early calamity goals as that would really boost Valencia and put us under pressure and Valencia only need two without reply to go through.

Front 2 are immense, we just need better players to give them more service. Performance was a bit hit and miss.

Agree with all of this, away leg isn't a foregone conclusion, if they get an early goal the pressure on us will be immense and as we know our teams of the last decade haven't responded too well to pressure.

Also agree re Chelsea, that one could go either way, Hazard is the danger man, just hope if we do make it we don't suffer another final heartbreak.

Oh piss. Just realised I'll be in the sodding US with work when the final is on.
If my maths is right it'll kick off at 4pm where I'll be. Might be able to catch the second half :(

(Assuming we get there which I agree is not a given right now, the away goal could come back to haunt us. I reckon we can score out there though, cautiously optimistic)
