Positives:

Clean sheet
No goals conceded
Everton didn’t score any goals
Worked a lot harder and that way evident from the start
Looked comfortable throughout the game and controlled the game for periods.

That was awful. Two dreadful teams taking it in turns to fuck up.

Arteta has so much work to do. There are clearly issues behind the scenes, Auba didn't look interested at all. I know it must be frustrating to get no service but as skipper he has to try and encourage the youngsters, but there was none of that. Pepe not brought on and Laca only getting 15 minutes was bizarre.

if Pepe had started (or indeed played at all) we'd have had a much better chance of winning that. plus bringing Laca on sooner

Listening on the radio - sounded like there was a bit more fight, if nothing else. It’s a minimum standard we can work with, and hopefully shows that some of the players were listening to Arteta’s presser, but he definitely has some work ahead of him!

Good luck Mikel.

You’re going to need it with these shit kickers.

Agree re Auba. Looked like he didn’t enjoy playing with some of the youngsters. Didn’t work hard enough and didn’t lead by example like a captain should. Accroding to reports he’s off soon anyway so I guess that explains it.

Everton must be crap to not win against one of the worst teams in the league.

Amazed that Arsenal didn't lose.

What is wrong with fairycake, is it too cold or is the wind blowing in the wrong direction for him ?

Good luck Mikel, you're going to need tons of it.

It would help if he stayed up the pitch when we face corners etc instead of coming back - it gives us no options when we do clear the ball

it happens every game, such a basic thing as leaving one player up, just can't understand it, i hope Arteta realises

They make shit loads of money and some of them have lost perspective.

Haven’t watched it for a few seasons now. Total parody of itself.

A bit silly if other fans are accosting them though, I don’t think they’re doing anything particularly wrong.

Freddie said he wouldn’t have picked Ozil anyway because of his little hissy fit last week.

What a man.

If this is our plan. Giving the job to arteta with the idea of blooding the youngsters then i can live with that. So we as fans can adjust our sights.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it ended up that way after a month or so, but to start with I reckon everyone will get one final chance to either prove themselves or hang themselves.

Some of these players need to realise that this is it though - no more chances after this. If they mess it up - if they down tools on another coach - then they can kiss any chance of a move to a decent club goodbye, because no one with ambitions will touch them...

AFTV is garbage.

It was a good idea to start with. A chance to give a voice to your average fan.

However the execution was terrible for the usual reason that things go bad. Money. And the chase for more money.

It quickly degenerated to the lowest common denominator. And this was largely due to fans of other Clubs getting a good laugh from the rants of the same collection of overreacting ‘characters’ that have all become cheap parodies of themselves.

Their embarrassing overreactions became the money spinner. And because of that it no longer was a fan channel because it is limited to the same select views of a small range of people, just like the other forms of media.

I haven’t watched it in years.

More clicks for them I guess.

The best part of this article was a quote from Freddie:

"I wanted to see people that would run and fight for the team. We can't rely on our name - we have to fight and do the dirty things. We had a very young side out there because I wanted energy and I wanted to give them chances."

You can read between the generously spaced lines on that one. I hope Freddie stays and works with the new team. Personally, I think he did okay considering the almost total wreck he was parachuted into.

The Wenger Out thing worked well for them in terms of publicity. So they turned around and ran the same game on Emery. They're corrosive now. Their model runs contrary to the unity everyone will have to show for Arteta to have a sniff of a chance.

I've enjoyed his complete honesty in the interviews he's done. Very refreshing following the years of Wenger deflection and then the incoherent ramblings of Emery. Saying that Ozil would have been dropped anyway if he hadnt been injured

It wasn’t just that he was dealt an incredibly bad hand - you’ve also got to keep in mind that, as a caretaker, he had almost no power and authority. The players knew that they’d outlast him, and, even if his stint had run into January, he was never going to be given a budget to make changes - what can you really do under those circumstances?

For all Freddie knew, he may have had to rely on these same players until May, so he’s not had much choice but to keep the senior players on board. Could just be a coincidence, but it’s amazing how quickly that changed once a permanent hire was made - that felt like a real ‘fuck you!’ team selection yesterday.

I agree - I hope he stays on. We know Arteta (head of the first team) and Mertesacker (head of the academy) already have a strong working relationship, and Ljungberg could provide a vital bridge between the two for young players making the transition (basically the same role he had at the start of the season).

I just want to see some pride instilled back into representing Arsenal. Any player that isn't on board needs to be shipped out. I have some hope that Arteta, Per and Edu all get that. Hopefully Freddie stays on as well.
