We've had quite a bit of investment to be fair. We can't defend and never have been able to. Well, never's a long time but not for ages.
But scoring...last season we scored more than anyone bar the top 2.
We finished a couple of points off the top 4.
We got to the Europa League final.
If this squad can do that - and there haven't been wholesale changes since last year - then we don't need huge clearouts.
If we're going to complete with the top 2 then sure, we're miles away. Anyone else though, there's not much in it.
