What is this competition? Where did it come from and why is it happening? Don't they have a world cup in bongo-bongo land this year too? WTF?

I honestly have no idea. I didn't even know we were playing yesterday.
I think the aim is to reduce the number of meaningless friendlies, so now they've made a competition. Ooh, a competition!
Except I can't work out what it is or why I should care so if anything I'm less interested in the games than if they were friendlies.

Nah, its in Mos Eisley.

FIFA's going to be pissed. They thought they already found the most wretched hive of scum and villainy to host their pig fest.

Oh well. Better make it Luton 2026 to be safe. Or Bradford 2024 if Wenger gets his way.

I mean, I know end of season lag and all that, but that’s a shocker of a result. Especially for a team with designs of winning the World Cup.

I mean, you're right. But we did get to the semi-finals of the last one and the final of the Euros.
That should surely put us in the conversation for this one. But of course we will fall flat on our stupid faces at some point.

Ees the 'istory of Ing-er-land.

England had its best chance IMO in 1990. That team and that generation captained by Bryan Robson was immensely talented front to back and deep with first class players who couldn't even get a game. fast forward to the generation of 2005-20015 with Campbell, Ferdinand, Rooney with the complicated midfield of Lampard/Gerrard. Of todays team, only that long faced Spud Kane could get a look in.

The current team is spectacularly untalented. Sorry but its true

Bobby Robson had the best shot in Italia 90` but blew it by subbing John Barnes in when the game was already lost. I couldnt believe he did that.

Racist :sulk:

Barnes was brilliant, although admittedly never quite did it for England in the same way he did for Liverpool.
Kinda feel the same about Ian Wright, Wright, Wright. I guess the Arsenal team was quite focussed on getting the ball up to Wright, England not so much and I think that affected his impact internationally.
