There will definitely be a drop off in casual/nostalgic players because of the mechanics of the game (who really has the time to play something so vast and probably endless?) but Pokemon will always retain a big following for the reasons MS mentioned above.

Just walking home from the pub and encountered a ton of people on Pokemon Go, people of all ages. Absolutely bizzare atmosphere. :lol:

Yeah a funny thing happened last night. I was driving back home from a mate's place about 2 am (wasn't drunk) and I had the app open ........ and then suddenly a fucking Jynx appeared right in the middle of the road! I couldn't believe it but because it was the middle of a main road I couldn't just stop the car, so I literally raced into the next side street, parked up and raced to find it hoping it somehow didn't wander off ........... and luckily it hadn't which meant that using some Razz Berrys I captured it. :trophy:

On the way back to my car there was a couple from a nearby pub clearly taking over a gym for team blue ..... I could tell because there were the battle symbols above the gym before it turned grey (neutral) and then blue. Thought I would decide troll them. :lol:

As I walked past them I sheepishly put my phone in my pocket so they didn't realise that I was also playing, went into my car and literally the second they left I got back up I took over the gym for Team Yellow. All their hard efforts wasted. :lol: My Hypno seems to be still there this morning as well!

By '5 minutes' maybe a month or two, after the initial craze I doubt people will be playing it for long. But AR does open up a lot of interesting possibilities for gaming.

However indirectly he could, through getting sponsorship or having donate buttons on his twitter page and living of the publicity/fame.

I've seen few of the popular gaming channels on youtube amass millions and millions of views a piece for their pokemon go videos which will get them quite a few bucks in YouTube money.

It's to pave way for the the new slim console but given there isn't a whole lot of difference, this deal is pretty sweet. Bagged myself the 1TB console last night.

Started playing the story mode tonight. Quite innovative really, nice to see something new from FIFA at last. Only issue really is that because there's so much dialogue and cut scenes, by the time it actually comes to play I've pretty much zoned out and would rather just watch!

Not that impressed with the gameplay, I've always found FIFA too easy to play. I prefer Pro Evo for the difficulty.

At least they've attempted to make changes this year. The Story Mode is alright. Already can't stand the fist bump in every cutscene. The cutscenes that go on and on.

Through balls are too easy but set pieces are an utter nightmare. I'm not sure I like how the ball just pings around the pitch though, especially when no one actually runs towards the ball.

Sounds like it's going to be a handheld/console hybrid. Nintendo will always retain a strong following thanks to the quality of their first party games but they really need this to be a hit. It's a shame the Wii U fell off a cliff as soon as it did because it had so much more potential.

Not sure if I mentioned this but at the tech conference I was at a couple of weeks ago which was definitely a very important work trip and in no way a jolly, they demoed a HoloLens in one session.
Pretty impressive. He was streaming what he was seeing on to the screen and showing how he could walk round a 3D hologram he'd put in the room earlier.
Would be awesome for some games.

Currently working my way through the Uncharted games after getting all 4 for Christmas.

On 2 at the moment. Enjoyable but I'm finding it a little bit easy even on a difficult setting.

Played through Uncharted 2. Great story. The facial expressions and acting were ground breaking at the time but not a fan of the shooting mechanics. Gunshots lacked that oomph sound and the enemies wouldn't react to multiply gunshots. Max Payne fans may know what I mean. Bought part 3 but hardly played it. 4 looks amazing.

Mario in the real world seems a bit odd but I guess they've done pretty much everything they can in terms of his own world. Interesting to see how that works, looks very slick though as you'd expect.

Will probably get the Switch in a year or 2 when all the Nintendo stable of games are out.

Really enjoying Zelda. Got it for the Wiiu as the Switch doesnt seem worth owning yet.

This year is insane for game releases. Zelda, Horizon, Resident Evil 7, Nier all released to great reviews and there are loads of good looking ones releasing soon. Just wish I had time to play them.

I have played the second and third game....they are quite good and immersive

They are similar in structure to the Knights of the Old Republic games of 10-15 years ago.....in terms that you have one central playable character but you can make a team of three from about 10 different characters. And the game hinges on what your responses are in terms of conversations - the whole are you good or evil dynamic.

Invariably I always choose evil it's far more fun. But yeah in my opinion anyway it's worth playing.

FIFA 18 out again soon. They're doing the story mode again so more fun with the dialogue wheels to come, hopefully those decisions are a bit more impactful this time.

Also, I am little bit interested in NBA2k18 which as far as I can tell seems to have RPG elements and an open world hub?

I however have Life is Strange, Beyond the Storm to play firstly which I am a bit more excited for having read reviews. Well, rather hear what Aoife Wilson had to say. :loveblush:

What games did you get with it?

I haven't done much in Zelda so far but it feels great. Fast Racing RMX is decent but seems like a few rungs down from the perfection of F-Zero X/GX.

Mario Kart is of course absolutely exceptional, I must say.

Will start with Shovel Knight soon. Has anyone played this before?

I am tempted to try SteamWorld Dig 2 and Thumper from the indie selection. Will get Arms and Splatoon 2 hopefully and of course Mario Odyssey is the biggest Must Get of all time.

Only just today started the Dark World.

Enjoying it so far, much better than the first impression I got of GTA IV.

It's a great game if you ask me, I just don't think it has the same level of humour you'd come to expect from a GTA game.

They still try to be funny, it just comes off cold.
