On paper a game we should be winning, but in reality another potential banana skin given that under Arteta if we concede first away from home the likelihood is we will lose (happens over 70% of the time)
Important to get on the front foot early and get the first goal and control the game from there rather than the tame deep block bullshit we pulled against Palace a fortnight ago

Should be a win really. Should probably be 15/15 points too before we go to Old Trafford.

Should doing a lot of heavy lifting there
Though I agree of course. If United play the way they did against Brentford we should go there and rack up a cricket score but that’s not going to happen

A useless stat, but this is the first time we’ve won our first three fixtures since 2004
Given the fixtures we’ve had it was important to hit the ground running and we’ve done just that. But we won’t get many (if any) easier games than today.
The only real downside about today was Jesus’ goal being disallowed.

Watched it, didnt see one Arsenal player rate 3/10. Not sure what the expectations are, but I dont buy into all of the negative press around Saka. He isnt Messi, perspective needed.

I wouldn’t pay it too much mind
One of the people here has a hate boner for Saka largely because he thinks the praise he gets amongst Arsenal fans and in the media is because he’s young and English….now this is probably true to a degree and it’s fair to say Saka hasn’t really been anywhere near his best for a while.
He won’t admit it of course (but he’s a Scottish nationalist so you can’t expect rationality) but equally I think there is some self awareness behind his nonsense

I would say given the state of the UK, it’s government and the calibre of what is going to replace the fucking joke of a PM, being a Scottish Nationalist is the entirely rational choice.
If there were a London Nationalist party, they’d get my vote.

No it’s utterly short term thinking that is far more based on the toxic anti English sentiment those utter scumbags in the SNP have been fermenting rather than a objective look at the situation. The thing is Scotland has every right to choose to be an independent country and I think there is definitely an argument to be made about the disconnect between Westminster and Alba.
However I think people tend to be tribal about things, that just because the Tories are capricious and venal that the people opposed to them are any better (when in fact if anything they are worse).
Don’t get me wrong when it comes to Mandela, the whole angry Scotsman jibe is intended purely to bait him (he sensibly won’t bite anymore :haha:). But I know Scotland well, the SNP have ruined that country and every single time the question is asked of them why they are neglecting education, neglecting the drug death epidemic it’s always their recourse to blame Westminster. The only positive thing of note is that as terrible as Nicola Sturgeon is she’s far less vile than Alex Salmond. That man is human flotsam.
The situation in Scotland and England is analogous, people choose the SNP because of their dislike for the other parties and down here they choose the Tories because Labour is not fit to govern.

Oh, I'm not a nationalist in any way shape or form. I think nationalism is repugnant.
I always find it equally funny and ironic that if you support Scottish independence (which is normal for 99.9% of countries) you will be labelled a nationalist by frothing at the mouth english nationalist gammons :haha:
If a Dutch or Canadian or Peruvian or Australian were asked to give up their countries independence, would they be labelled a nationalist? What is it about Scottish independence, and this alone, that warrants such a label?
Quite bizarre, really.

Don’t think I used the words fit to govern
The difference is we can get rid of this government at the next election. If Scotland got independence now, if people think the SNP would willingly leave power they are mistaken.
Independence is something largely rooted in Glasgow (sectarian shit hole full of human and literal garbage) the rest of the country doesn’t care. The Nationalists (in Scotland’s case Nationalism and a desire for independence are completely and inseparably intertwined) talk as if they were colonised rather than willingly entered into a union and because the people of Scotland chose to remain part of that Union act like they are being forced against their will to be a vassal state…it’s the most utterly pathetic of language. But it’s hardly surprising when so many of the Glasgow based mob are a bunch of Sinn Fein supporting IRA enthusiasts who like a bit of anti Semitism thrown in for good measure
Scotland I reiterate has every right to be independent, but no polling suggests a majority of the Scottish people want this regardless of Brexit and the people that are activist about wanting it are the absolute sewer dregs of Scotland who would make life miserable for those who disagree with them if they ever got their own way.
