Leeds: Meslier; Kristensen, Koch, Cooper, Struijk; Roca, Adams; Aaronson, Rodrigo, Harrison; Sinisterra
Subs: Klaesson, Ayling, Firpo, Bamford, Summerville, Llorente, Gelhardt, Greenwood, Klich

Arsenal: Ramsdale, White, Saliba, Gabriel, Tomiyassu, Partey, Xhaka, Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli, Jesus.
Subs: Turner, Tierney, Cedric, Holding, Lokonga, Vieira, Nelson, Marquinhos, Nketiah.

I’m not sure about this at all. Realistically from midfield onwards you have to say that’s the strongest team (yes even with Xhaka in there….Lokonga has been awful) but I don’t get persisting with Tomoyasu at left back…fine if you’ve got a specific strategy for dealing with a player but now it just makes it look like Tierney has been dropped.

Also gives us less opportunities going forward, I’d have dropped Gabriel…put White in central defence…played Tomoyasu at right back and put Tierney in at left back.

3-0 Rodrigo hatter

Marc Overmars

Possible banana skin but it should be a win really. Leeds aren’t quite as chaotic as last year but they haven’t actually won since that 3-0 win over Chelsea.

1-2

I’m going to say this will be our first draw away from home since Brighton a year ago. 1-1

Really don't get the 3.5 centre half nonsense.

White and Tommy offer nothing in attack.

Just reeks of Arteta reverting to thinking he's smarter than everyone else.

Mac76

One of the many bad things about our being in the EL is that we keep playing our games on Sunday after Spuds have played, so it feels like even more of a pressure game given all the other PL teams are rolling over for them

Mac76
16-10-2022, 01:03 PM
come on guys let's get an early goal again

McNamara That Ghost...
16-10-2022, 01:11 PM
Our game is on 5live.

We'll just have to play on without VAR surely.

McNamara That Ghost...
16-10-2022, 01:13 PM
Play suspended because VAR isn't working and neither are referee communications perhaps.

Mac76
16-10-2022, 01:13 PM
it's becoming a farce but the commentators are sayying it's not a level playing field across the PL if one game is without the technology

Mac76
16-10-2022, 01:14 PM
game suspended - what a joke - i hope they get all the time back

Have they tried turning it off and on again?

Mac76
16-10-2022, 01:17 PM
This kind of crap always happens to us - you can bet that somehow it's going to screw the game up for us and mess up our season

FFS Arteta out!

Mac76
16-10-2022, 01:30 PM
i hope he starts the game from when the issue first occurred, after about two minutes, not when they formally suspended it which was after about 10

it would be typical if we weren't winning and were cheated of ten minutes

The premier league fear us so much they have to resort to this smh my head

What an absolute joke. Sounds like the power cut was only temporary but it caused VAR, Hawkeye etc to crash.

Mac76
16-10-2022, 01:37 PM
Arsenal just tweeted:

Powered up…

Ready for action to resume at 2.40pm (UK)

McNamara That Ghost...

At least it came so early on in the game not really too long to disrupt that much.

Jesus whyyy.

Marc Overmars
16-10-2022, 02:03 PM
Just going to have to accept that Jesus is a brilliant footballer but clinical striker he is not. Type of player who needs a few chances to score 1.

Not enough options out wide.

Makes everyone else job more difficult when they get the ball.

Having to beat Arteta and Leeds here.

It's not even that some of the time, it's just basic control of the ball in tight situations - this is the worst performance i've seen from him

Marc Overmars
16-10-2022, 02:37 PM
Tomi is the kind of player who can probably come in to do a job on someone but this is very bizarre if he’s actually preferred to Tierney long term at left back.

Oh yeah agree, Arteta was reasonably quick on the draw with substitutions in the frozen tundra of Bodo. Let’s hope he’s similarly disposed in the frozen tundras of North Yorkshire

Saliba having a bit of a mare apparently.

Just a bit, has given the ball away in very dangerous places a few times. Gave away the penalty and was lucky not to be sent off just now. This is Gabriel level of bed shitting….young guy clearly top defender but he’s not showing it today

Winning is becoming quite the habit but that game was also a timely reminder how fragile things can be.

For the first time in the club’s 136-year history, Arsenal have won 9 of their opening 10 games of a top-flight league season:

WWWWWLWWWW

◉ Goals: 24
◉ Conceded: 10
◉ Clean sheets: 4

I think anyone complaining referees are against us can shut the fuck up. On another day Bamford goal gets given and penalty is not overturned. Think we had some favourable decisions against both Spurs and Liverpool too.

We’ve been poor lately. For me I think that comes down to having played five games in fifteen days. But it also shows we lack strength in depth. Not going to complain….nine wins from ten is excellent and 24 goals in ten is nothing to be sniffed at either

Mac76
16-10-2022, 03:52 PM
most of the decisions people say we've been lucky with were the right decisions plain and simple, but for once i'll say the disallowed Bamford goal was maybe a tiny bit lucky

But even when they are the right decision you can argue that the referee overturning the original decision was lucky to a degree

But Gabriel should have been sent off for kicking out…

But Gabriel should have been sent off for kicking out…

no it was a yellow - he barely touched Bamford and it was only half a kick-out, his leg was flying up when he went over after Bamford's shove - but he does need to control his temper

btw I've just watched the Bamford disallowed goal again several times and i still can't see what the problem was other than his leaning a little on Gabriel, strikers get away with that all the time - if an Arsenal goal was disallowed for that i'd be f*****g furious
