Definitely the most crucial game in the group….last time we played this lot was 15 years ago and they knocked us out of the Champions League
Win tonight and we are pretty much certain of qualifying top of the group with two games remaining
Case of Balancing priorities, I wouldn’t necessarily be against Jesus starting as long as he doesn’t play the full 90 minutes

I would let Eddie carry on leading the line tbh. He’s never going to start league games so I don’t think these matches should be taken away from him.
Given the importance of the fixture in the the groups context, I’m ok with a mixture of starters and second string for this one. Partey on the bench though, he’s too important and injury prone to risk at the moment outside of league games.

Only just realised their manager is Ruud Van Horselroy
So that's a second good teason to trash them

Ruud actually pointed out that if he hadn't missed that penalty in that infamous clash we wouldn't have gone the season unbeaten :yikes:

Ok first half, though some loose passing, we created more chances, need to make it count in the second half.
Xhaka's really reverted to type in this game, giving the ball away, getting his yellow etc

Bit of a snoozer.
Thought Saka has been the most likely to do something, although hasn't yet.

Struggle a bit against this lot in terms of goals, granted my frame of reference goes back at least 15 years :haha: but we’ve scored twice against them in three home games

Not a bad effort from Nketiah.
After the awful rebound effort earlier.
Partey and Odegaard on for Sambi and Vieira.
Plenty of chances, need to start taking them

Good win. Should be enough to win the group now comfortably without risking any key players for the remaining 2 games.

The important thing was to win tonight against the hardest team in the group, now it doesn’t really matter what happens next week in Eindhoven (would take a draw right now) but even if we lose we’d still be favourites to finish top.
Yes it’s only the Europa but it’s good that we seem to be navigating through it with minimal hassle. I’m always critical of Arteta but I have to say I think he got the team balance right tonight….I think it was important to play Jesus even though he was a tad wasteful he makes things happen (a fortnight ago I didn’t think it was necessary against the Norwegian lot)
The only worrying thing is the goals are drying up a bit but that seems to be being cancelled out by clean sheets…three on the bounce.
We do need to strengthen in January, but yeah we’ve done what we needed to tonight so no complaints

Yes I think he got the team right too, though I'd have subbed Saka earlier on
